A wonderful group of musicians and music educators have just completed their level 1 or level 2 Orff training courses! Six days of integrating speech, singing, movement and instrumental work, assignments, and lots of fun, and of course some great music making. Thank you to a hard working tutor team of Renee Morrin, Celia Stewart, Millie Locke and Jo Charman.

Looking for some great Music Ed PD? Orff New Zealand Aotearoa is offering 6-day workshops, the successful completion of which achieves ONZA certification (Level 1 or level 2 ) in Orff Pedagogy. The Level 1 workshop is a gentle, experiential introduction to the practices and principles of the Orff approach. The approach is appropriate to the needs of both specialist and generalist teachers working in early childhood, primary, intermediate and lower secondary school and community settings.

Our Level 3 training course is well under way at the Auckland Uni School of Music, venue. Plenty of great music making and rich learning lead by James Harding from the San Francisco Orff school and 16 fabulous participants who have come from all over the North island to continue their Orff journey.

We are thrilled to share with you ONZA's Online Marimba Festival 2022 - "Songs from Rongo-Mā-Tāne - The Cultivated Garden". This video is a compilation of over 160 videos from 29 marimba bands from all over New Zealand, from Whangārei all the way down to Dunedin. Congratulations to all the students and teachers on your wonderful mahi to help create this marimba music extravaganza! Thank you to our incredible musical director Jeremy Hantler, our amazing administrator Cat Rowllings, our talented video editor James Hunter from One Legacy Films and Creative New Zealand for funding this video project.
