It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis, who passed away at 7.35am Rome time today on Monday, 21 April 2025.
Mass will be offered at 12.05 pm at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral on Friday.
A source of inspiration through his compassion, humility, and faith. Pope Francis touched the lives of millions with his message of love, mercy, and hope.

"God's love calls us to move beyond fear. We ask God for the courage to put on faith, hope and love as we go out into the world and become the word in body as well as spirit."

Pope Francis will be remembered not only for his teachings but also for his tireless efforts to bridge divides between people of all backgrounds.

"Let us pray for peace: peace in the world and in each of our hearts."

As we mourn his passing, let us take time to pray:

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
Amen

Ari (Year 6) has been involved in the Crusaders Long Run event for the last 3 years. He is back again for his 4th back-to-back and has set himself a huge goal of running 60km.

The Crusaders have done a wee write up on Ari –

We wish to advise of the death of Fr Benito Velasco, who passed away in the Philippines at 9.30pm (NZ time), Sunday 28th July.
Bishop Michael will be celebrating a Memorial Mass for Fr Benito at 6.30pm, this Wednesday 31st July, at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral.
Fr Benito was a much-loved priest and served in a number of parishes in the Christchurch Diocese from 2014 through until his retirement in 2022 due to ill health. He returned to the Philippines at the end of 2023 to spend time with family. We are grateful for his faith and commitment to the parishes in which he served, and his faithful service to the Filipino community.

Eternal rest grant to him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Due to the cold and possibly wet weather, we have moved the Holy Week Reenactment into the library. Unfortunately, due to the size of the library, we cannot have parents attend to watch. We apologise for this inconvenience.

Wishing you a happy and safe Easter.

Day 2 complete.

The children did a range of activities today and showed great perseverance to complete tasks. Their encouragment and support of one another was a highlight of the day.

Our Year 5 and 6 have had an enjoyable day at camp. They have had a delicious dinner and are just reflecting on the day in their camp booklet. Hopefully, they will have a good sleep tonight.
