Lincoln High School • Sweat with Pride 29/05/2024

DID YOU KNOW?

1. According to the OECD - Taking action is one of the key skills that our future communities will need to thrive socially, environmentally and economically.

2. In NZ our young people are above the OECD average in the knowledge and awareness about diversity and inclusion.

BUT

3. Our young people are sadly below the OECD average when it comes to taking action to actually BE inclusive and transfer this knowledge and awareness in action.

You can act now! Support the LHS Sweat with Pride team.

Lincoln High School • Sweat with Pride Team Lincoln High School is taking on Sweat with Pride this June to raise money for our Rainbow communities! 💦🌈 Our schools, workplaces, and doctors’ offices are still not safe places for many Rainbow New Zealanders and it’s putting lives at risk.

CHINA TRIP UPDATE

We were fortunate to have been able to attend the Anzac Day dawn service in Beijing! What a great experience to commemorate those in the Gallipoli War and hearing the language of home feels good! Students were able to make friends with students who study at the Jingxi International School.

Under the auspices Centre for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), we were able to make this fantastic China Camp and we visited the place yesterday.

We are heading to the Great Wall (Mutianyu). We are tired but want to make the most while we are in Beijing!

MORE NEWS FROM OUR INTREPID TRAVELLERS IN CHINA! Sounds amazing!!!

Time flies, we’ve been in Wuhan for 10 days already. Everyday there were lessons and visits, we went to Xiangyang, the ancient city, museums and sat on China’s first Monorail…Yesterday, we saw pandas and other animals at the Wuhan zoo, later we went to the Yellow Crane Tower and at nighttime, we cruised on the Two Rivers, and of course, not forgetting the shopping. There are so much to see and buy, and I think students are thoroughly enjoying themselves. It’s good to see they have made new friends on this trip as well.

We are leaving for Beijing early tomorrow morning by bullet train, We are looking forward to climbing the Great Wall and see the capital city.

NEWS FROM OUR CHINA TOUR

2024 HUST-CICU Chinese Culture Immersion Camp update.

Students have been enjoying classroom sessions on the HUST University campus being taught by local MLA's with lots of language and culture being shared. After a ride on a bullet train reaching over 300km/hr we visited Xiang Yang Middle School where the group experienced a rockstar welcome (6000 students). Visiting the Xiang Yang Ancient city was a highlight of this day trip. We have also visited HUST Middle School where students made traditional Chinese crafts and water rocket launchers. It is hard to believe we have been here almost a week!
