A Year of Outdoor Play!

For the past few years a very special part of our centre has been our weekly Wednesday 'Explorer Sessions'. These have been a great opportunity to venture into Ōtautahi and discover new favourite destinations.

Outdoor play involving engaging with natural taonga allows our tamariki endless play and learning opportunities, establishes their sense of tūrangawaewae (identity), and fosters their growing feeling of kaitiakitanga (stewardship) over beautiful Aotearoa.

As a parent/caregiver, it can be reassuring to adventure out to places you might not usually go knowing your Playcentre Village is there too. More adults to help with supervision + someone will always have the change of clothes, snacks, hats, or sun lotion that you inevitably forgot.
