How do you implement processes and products within a large international company? The answer seems simple at first: by offering training to everybody involved. However, how do you do this as efficiently and effectively as possible knowing that due to the pandemic everything, including the practical sessions need to be digital?
Over the past few months, we have been training Hyster EMEA and Yale EMEA dealers on new products and systems. To ensure that every employee involved has the correct knowledge, we implemented In-Dealer Training (IDT). This allows the dealers to pass on the new information within their own dealership at the pace and level suitable for their employees.
The training consisted out of 5 theoretical sessions and 4 practical sessions delivered in Virtual Classroom Trainings (VCTโs). These sessions are programmed in a way that mobile devices could be used to ensure maximum flexibility and efficiency. A total of 153 sessions were delivered in five different languages.

The winners of the AMT Awards 2022 are announced! This year, Karel de Munnik and Stefan Baks of Moerman Jansen are winners. With the 1st and 2nd place they may call themselves Technician of the Year. It has been a while, but you can find a camper and a caravan from Erwin Hymer Group in our training center. Not without reason of course.
The EHG brings Europe's renowned caravan and motorhome manufacturers together in one organization. By offering the EHG Dealer organization various training courses, their knowledge is specialized for upcoming projects.
Service employees who normally work on the products are invited to follow training courses regarding the construction and electrical installations of the various products. The classroom training is supported by online training to transfer the knowledge and skills as effectively as possible.
This makes the Netherlands the second country where these trainings have been offered!

Here is to you, because we all took our turn in the headwind, helping each other, going an extra mile, or just having coffee together. Yes, times have been strange and even challenging but we stuck together; clients, partners, new family members, our dedicated people. Not everything was perfect but many things were great, and we are truly thankful to be on this journey with you all! If we have learned anything in the last years, it is probably that we can look forward with confidence because of you. Bearing with us, navigating through difficulties, and celebrating great achievements together.

In the previous post we have stipulated the place of L&D in business strategy as an enabler rather than a cost item. Data and KPI driven human capital development is a prerequisite for success and not a choice. But its not simple or easy, is it? For starters we are dealing with people and not spreadsheets. Enter ๐๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐.
In many cases L&D is linked to the HR department in one way or another, often as a part of HR managerโs / leaderโs responsibility. The obvious link is โgetting the right people to do the right thingsโ which basically is what HRM and L&D are all about. But there is more to the HR โ L&D relationship than just the obvious.
Picture this, the company is doing well; targets are being met, KPIs are green and everything seems perfect until people start to drop out, some due to sick leave some leave for other jobs, in any case, the percentage of people off the floor is spiking! Cause seems to be stress. But stress is never a cause, itsโs always a symptom. Whoever reads upon stress in the workplace will find few main reasons for it, letโs have a look at them and see what can be done from an L&D perspective:
- ๐ค๐ซ๐๐ง- /๐ช๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐ก๐ค๐๐: can we teach people to work smarter vs harder? Are they completely familiar with all aspects of their job so they can increase their efficiency? Do managers know how to efficiently handle work load?
- ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ก ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ก๐: are the managers well quipped to lead and not boss around? Do the managers understand all processes and work well enough to manage the people doing it?
- ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐ฎ: how well do people understand the technology they work with? Does it help or is it working against them?
- ๐ค๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐: is everyone familiar with the WHY behind the change? Is the outlook clear? Does everyone know what their respective role is in the process?
The mentioned causes of stress are probably quite clear and relatable. But the million dollar questions are; can HR management answer all of the questions? Are the answers always positive? If there is a hint of hesitation about the above, please bring your L&D consultant to the HR table. As true superheroes, L&D professionals, enable your business to grow and keep your employees healthy, motivated and ready for any challenge!

While creating a new training or renewing a curriculum what would be the best starting point?
A Input from the participants?
B Input from the (business) stake holders?
C Business KPIs?
Obviously most will say D, all of the above and that is the correct answer. However, we come across many that do A and B very diligently but giving the full attention to C. Which is curious. We all exist in the world of business where L&D is an investment. As with all investments we should expect it to yield profit. In case of L&D, the profit is the added value we can deliver to the business. So before anything else, consider how the business is measured, find room for improvement and translate that to a knowledge / skill gap. With that a great step towards added value L&D is taken!

Just before summer break we had the pleasure of hosting a Live Face to Face/Classical training for Mazda Nederland !
During this "New To Mazda" training the participants came to TTA for the first time to follow their first Mazda training. During this training we not only dive into the specific technical knowledge of Mazda. We also take the participants into the world of the Mazda brand. Rich history, human centric thinking and attention to detail are things that characterize the brand from Hiroshima and therefore are part of introduction training. We do not train car mechanics but Mazda technicians!

After successfully testing different CSC (Camera and Sensor Calibration) systems on passenger cars for our customersโ network, our expertise was again requested for a new extension into the bus & truck market.
Last week our colleague Edwin went to Estonia for a hands-on research on the major tools in the market. During his visit, several brands of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration equipment were tested and compared to support our customer and his network with valuable recommendations on the best solutions for them.
