The aftermath of cyclone Freddy is devastating. People who were once living in their homes are now picking up the pieces of their shattered lives. Everything they had built in their lives has been destroyed by the powerful winds and rain that came with the storm.
The people affected by this natural disaster are now left to rebuild what they had lost and put their lives back together. It will be a long journey for them as they face many challenges along the way, but with support from family, friends, and community members, they can begin to pick up the pieces and start anew.
Our community of caring people stepped up and helped us provide emergency food and supplies to displaced, stranded families.

We need people to step up to help through the rebuilding process. Can you make a commitment of $20, $30, $40, or $50 a month for the next 4 months?

Today marks the beginning of GlobalGiving’s Little by Little campaign. This week, April 3 - 7 they will match donations up to $50 by 50%.

In addition to the 50% match today, when you sign up for a recurring donation after your 4th month your donation amount will be matched 100%.

Scores and scores of people affected with Cyclone Freddy are trapped with water at Makuwa primary school in Phalombe. The roads are impassable. What used to be roads are now streams of rivers. Makuwa is 25 kilometers away from Migowi trading center. Our team travelled to meet local leaders from Makuwa Camp. They both met at Phaloni camp which is also surrounded with water along the way. The plan is to evacuate 776 people camping at Makuwa primary school to Matawa primary school where they can be accessible by road transport. Matawa school is about 20 kilometers from Migowi. Our team leant that the whole T/A Kaduya is trapped with water.

Did you know....?

Making a substance out of locally available material is what we must promote if we want to move forward as a nation. Being one of the poorest countries in the world, Malawi can benefit a lot by making use of waste and local materials available.

Do you know that manufacturing a fertilizer was once an idea, that came into existence. An idea is more like life. Life becomes unseen until it gives out a baby called a human being. So as an idea. If we focus much on BIOCHAR, as an idea changed into a substance, agriculture will be possible with or without chemically manufactured fertilizer.

We pay homage where knowledge reside.
