Tuesday, October 17- International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the declaration by the General Assembly, in its resolution 47/196 of 22 December 1992, of 17 October as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Call to Action by Father Joseph Wresinski — which inspired the observance of October 17 as the World Day for Overcoming Extreme Poverty — and the recognition by the United Nations of the day as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

Together, we can build a 🌍 where everybody lives free from poverty & fear. On #EndPoverty Day, we hope you took actions.

Unbelievable! That's the problem with the education system in Mru. They tend to overlook current existing problems and marche to implement BS projects which they don't even how to proceed with. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time.
There are many roles that kids can play. Kids can bully others, they can be bullied, or they may witness bullying. When kids are involved in bullying, they often play more than one role. It is important to understand the multiple roles kids play in order to effectively prevent and respond to bullying. Bullying can threaten students’ physical and emotional safety at school and can negatively impact their ability to learn. The best way to address bullying is to stop it before it starts. There are a number of things school staff can do to make schools safer and prevent bullying. Even parents should not forget their roles in these situations. It is important for everyone in the community to work together to send a unified message against bullying.

Our friends run a page called Happiness Heroes that for the last week had been working on a video about a courageous young boy named Ari who was receiving a heart transplant. In the time since they finished the video, news broke that Ari's body is rejecting his heart and his family now needs help more than ever.

Instead of abandoning the project, Happiness Heroes and us here at 22 Words are instead encouraging our readers to learn more about Ari's story and consider visiting the families GoFundMe page.

To learn about Ari's GoFundMe, follow this link - https://www.gofundme.com/aridangersnewheart

Hello Book-Lovers!

03/04/2017

A visit to the Brett family left us speechless and appalled at our justice system. Around two weeks ago, a video footage posted by the TOP FM team prompted our attention, the Weave A Dream Association team decided take bold actions to help this family out. On Sunday 02/04/2017, we made our way to the Brette household at L'Amitié.
Despite the tragedy and injustice inflicted at them, we were greeted with huge warm smiles and kind words.
Mr. and Mrs Brette recounted the tragedy that fell upon them 7 years ago; their son Rayan aged 7 years old then, was on his way back home when he was hit by a van.
Rayan Brette was immediately rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately he was in the Intensive Care Unit after which he fell into a coma. He did get back from the hospital but with severe neurological deficits: He is now paraplegic with both his vision and speech forever gone.
"He has become just like a newborn baby who will need permanent assistance for the rest of his life," said Mrs Sheila Brette emotionally.

The WADA team would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to lessen the burdens of this family. Huge thanks to Sarvesh Lutchmun and Rajesh Mudhoo who drove the team to L'Amitié. Sincere gratitude to Seema, Poornima Mudhoo, Ash Hee, Visham Kowlessur, and Ashwini Gukhool for their corporation, understandings and compassion.

Thank you all once again!
~Luxshinee! :)

Dear friends, WADA is purchasing food and basic items for Ryan Brette who has been paralyzed for life following a dangerous road accident during his childhood.
In 2010, aged 7, Ryan Brette met with a horrible accident which changed his and his family's life forever. This young boy is paralysed, can not see nor talk. He needs assistance and support 24/7. His only meals consist of milk, baby food and baby cereals.
There are numerous daily struggles that the Brette family are facing, and the Weave A Dream Association has been generously contributing to help them out. We will hand over these items to his family this Sunday and we humbly invite you all to voluntarily contribute for Ryan. Please contact us for more information.

Thank you all!

Congratulations to the entire team of Mauritius Gymnastics Federation! Keep the great work going on!

While we expected him to score the highest marks in Floor, Yash Bhoyroo surprised us all with his wonderful performance in Rings at a score of 8.600, the top score he brought among all the 6 apparatus at the Bangkok Gymnastics International Invitational Meet (7th Moose Games) in Thailand! The picture is a glimpse of his training sessions before the start of the competition. Hopefully, we will have more photos and videos once the team is back to Mauritius! #ArtisticGymnastics #SilverMedal #Rings

"There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish." - Michelle Obama

Women need to be empowered through the strongest tool - education. They don't need to be subservient to anyone, but at the same time, men must change their mindset towards women. If they are more respectful towards them, then things will change at the grassroots level. It will happen slowly, but everyone has to move together.
Ladies, get education, go to university, get a job, enjoy your lives and become a someone before settling down and getting married. Make your own name instead of changing your surname to your man's surname.

Happy International Women's Day from the WADA Team!
Cheers to all women!

Ho ho ho! Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and family and to create memories that will last forever. Jesus is God's perfect, indescribable gift. The amazing thing is that not only are we able to receive this gift, but we are able to share it with others on Christmas and every other day of the year. Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. On behalf of the Weave A Dream Association, we wish you a merry Christmas! Ho ho ho!

Gift Donation at TOPFM! 16/12/2016

Congratulations to the Weave A Dream Association team who went to donate a considerable amount of gifts to TOP FM! The entire team contributed and bought several gifts including pencil cases, dolls, Monopoly sets and scholar materials! They went to spread happiness among those less fortunate children. It's that time of the year where our team members work hard together to widen the grin on children who are, unfortunately, less privileged than the others. These children do not ask for much, a simple gesture can have the biggest effect on their little lives. So, moving forward with TOP FM Mauritius, the team went to drop off a little bundle of happiness for them.
On behalf of the entire team, we would like to thank the TOP FM team for welcoming and having us at their studio. We would also like to express our gratitude to their awesome, kind and friendly staff members who showed us around and took so many pictures of us! Also, huge thanks to Riya for tolerating us at her studio-window! Be a Santa, and spread happiness along with the Weave A Dream Association!
