All the necessary details are as follows:

National Drawing Contest on Road Safety for primary school students

Theme "Street for Life"

Road Safety
Every four minutes a child is prematurely lost on the roads of this world. Many more are injured and often severely handicapped. These traumatic events cause immense suffering and grief and drive to economic hardship for families and friends.

A shift in the mindset of every individual is desperately felt to ensure that roads serve the needs of and are safe for all users, including children, but also other vulnerable groups, such as pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Such a change is imperative
for ongoing efforts to promote a safe and healthy lifestyle.

The challenges in the field of road safety are to curtail the increasing number of road fatalities. The main causes of road accidents are lack of courtesy and respect. The spirit of this competition is to reaffirm the commitment in advocating that "Street is for Life” and not lead to death. However, our behavior on the road may kill.

This drawing contest seeks to hold children as messengers for road safety. The theme “Street for Life" requires the engagement of parents to guide their kids in developing their creativity regarding road safety in their respective drawing.

Painting Competition
In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, it is proposed to celebrate the event virtually through the organization of a painting competition for primary school pupils on Radio One channel and its page.

f) Duration of competition – 31 May to 6 June 2021

g) Mode of transmission of painting by pupils: Pupils will send their paintings via the WhatsApp number 58537721 or messenger.

h) At the top right-hand corner of the painting, the pupil should clearly indicate the following details: Full name of the pupil, Age, Address and Contact Number.

i) A minimum of 5 participants would be live on Radio One any time during the day as from 31 May to 6 June 2021.

j) Selection process: All the drawings of the pupils would be published on the page of Radio One where the public would be called to vote for the best paintings via Like and Share. Parents would be encouraged to promote their kid’s picture on the page of Radio One. The name and picture of the

We are pleased to note that all the Zoom classes went well yesterday. Unfortunately, some parents could not connect as the mail sent to them was not received, due to it going into spam or their inbox being full.

From Belle Etoile, Priscilla and Natasha will connect with you.

Sorry about the inconveniences. We hope that all of you will be settled with Zoom classes by tomorrow.
