EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS
Washington, D.C.

The Embassy of the Republic of the Marshall Islands is proud to welcome a distinguished group of Marshallese students currently participating in the Close-Up Foundation. The Washington, D.C. program is one of the nation's premier civic education experiences.
These outstanding young delegates have traveled thousands of miles from the Pacific to engage firsthand with the democratic processes and institutions that shape our world. During their time in Washington, students are meeting with lawmakers, exploring the halls of Congress, and increasing their understanding of government, diplomacy, and civic responsibility.

Ambassador Charles R. Paul and Embassy staff had the honor of meeting with the students this week, sharing words of encouragement and the important work the Embassy does to represent Marshallese interests in the United States.

"You represent the future of the Marshall Islands," said Ambassador Paul. Enjoy your time here and stay curious, engaged, and ready to lead.”

The Close-Up Foundation has provided immersive civic education to students across the United States and its affiliated territories and nations for over 50 years. We are grateful for the program's commitment to ensuring that young people from every corner of the world, including our small island nation, have a seat at the table.

To our students: Kommol tata. We see you. We are proud of you.

A meaningful week for Special Education in the Marshall Islands.

We welcomed the U.S. Department of Education’s OSEP team for their Differentiation Monitoring and Support Visit, where they met with Hon. Minister Gerald Zackios, Commissioner Dr. Natalie Nimmer and PSS staff, the Special Education Advisory Council, parents, principals, teachers, WUTMI, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Early Childhood Development, Ebeye representatives, and other stakeholders.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to meet with the team during the visit and for their continued support and engagement in strengthening inclusive education in our schools!
