UBW - Kwajalein

Underwater Basket Weaving (UBW) - Kwajalein will conduct their first class on January 17th at 0900. The class is apporximately ten people and this class is invitation only. We are hoping to work out any bugs and get feedback from everyone to enrich the experience for future class offerings. Until we get it down, we are starting our Introductory Level course. Here is a description:

Participants are provided basic weaving techniques for construction of an “enra,” which is a traditional Marshallese serving plate made from palm fronds. Upon learning the basics, participants enter Kwajalein Lagoon and descend to approximately thirty to forty-five feet where they continue weaving the enra until finished or required to surface. All participants must be active members of Kwajalein Scuba Club. The course is provided by a private vendor with permission from United States Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll.
