AME University Wins Inter-University Basketball Tournament, Presents Trophy to Administration
Following a triumphant campaign in the Spark Inter-University Championship, the Mongoose Basketball Team of AME University on Friday formally presented their championship trophy to the university’s administration.
Making the presentation, Head Coach Moucta Toure described the victory as deeply meaningful, noting that success is even more rewarding when it is shared with the institution.
“Today, we are pleased to present this trophy to the administration as a symbol of our hard-fought victory in the tournament,” Coach Toure said with excitement.
He also expressed appreciation to the AME University administration for its continuous support to the basketball program, emphasizing that such backing played a key role in the team’s success.
Receiving the trophy on behalf of the administration, the Vice President for Academic Support Services, Dr. Gerri Wilson Wright, expressed delight and pride in the team’s achievement. She noted that the trophy symbolizes AME University’s strength not only in academics but also in sports.
“Our team did a marvelous job, and we are truly proud of your exploits on the basketball court,” Dr. Wright stated.
The victory marks a significant milestone for AME University, further strengthening its presence in inter-university sports competition.

Weeklong Refresher Training for Online Students
The Center for E-Learning and the Center for Professional Development of African Methodist Episcopal University inform all online students that a Weeklong Refresher Training will be held to strengthen students’ understanding and effective use of the University’s online learning systems.

Attendance is compulsory for all online students. Training sessions are arranged on a flexible timetable to allow students to attend sessions that fit their class schedules.
