KINDERGARTEN 'LATE' REGISTRATION 2024-2025

The Department of Education would like to inform parents and guardians that Late Registration for Kindergarten for the Academic Year 2024/2025 for schools in the Castries Basin will be available
online at www.kregistration.education.gov.lc. This website can be easily accessed via a mobile phone, computer or tablet. Late registration will be occur from Thursday 18th January to Friday 2nd
February 2024 for the following schools:

Ave Maria Girls’ Infant, Bishop Charles Gachet RC Primary School, Camille Henry Memorial, Carmen Rene Memorial, Castries Anglican Infant, Gordon & Walcott Memorial Methodist, Morne-Du-Don Primary, St. Aloysius RC. Boys’ Infant, Vide Bouteille Primary

Applicants will be required to select a first, second and third option in the event their school of choice is oversubscribed.

The following documents are required for registration:
(1) The child’s Birth Certificate;
(2) Immunization Certificate or Health Card with completed 3 1/2 or 5-year developmental
assessment as applicable;
(3) 1 passport photo;
(4) Job letter (if applying based on workplace, salary details are not needed);
(5) Parent’s utility bill for proof of residence (if applying based on residence)

Applicants registering online should scan and upload the documents as instructed on the website. A valid email address is required for login, confirmation of registration, and future
communication on the process.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to use the online platform. However, for households without digital access, provisions will be made to assist you by making an appointment at telephone number 720-3252 / 468-5259.

All applicants will be granted equal opportunity regardless of the registration method used. For further information /clarification, please call 468-3221, (5258), (5285).

Months after launching its Digital Content initiative, the Ministry of Education through CAMDU is engaging teachers in the effective use of the content for enhancing classroom instruction.

Chris Satney reports CAMDU has been engaging in this and other training, including in the area of jolly phonics at the start of the second term of the academic year.

Several members of the leadership team of the Department of Education, headed by Minister for Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, and Vocational Training, Hon. Shawn Edward, recently engaged the executive of the National Principals Association in what the Minister has described as a very fruitful meeting.

A range of issues were discussed, including the ongoing school rehabilitation programme and the possible future reinstatement of principals’ assistants in primary schools.

Mindful of the need for the nation's children to be physically active, District Two recently staged their annual fun walk.

This year's route took the youngsters past the Department of Education where Minister for Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science and Vocational Training, Hon. Shawn Edward, and several other ministry officials and staff members were able to cheer them on.

Staff and students of the Soufriere Comprehensive School are expressing their appreciation for the construction of a temporary wing to house various technical and vocational classes following the handing-over and opening of the facility on Wednesday, 10th January, on the school compound.

The Soufriere Comprehensive School now has a home for its music, visual and theatrical arts as well as other vocations such as sewing.

The structure was rehabilitated at a cost of some 200 Thousand EC, funded through the help of the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund, the SSDF and other stakeholders within the Soufriere community.

The Saint Lucia Council for Technical Vocational Education and Training held their 2023 Career Fair Constitution Park.

Young people from around the island were able to speak to industry experts and other exhibitors in a forum geared towards encouraging professional growth and social connectivity.

Our deepest condolences to his family and his colleagues of the Ciceron Combined and the rest of District Four. May he rest in eternal peace. 🙏

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, Mr. Simeon Stephen, a teacher at the Ciceron RC Combined School. We are heartbroken to have lost such an exceptional, motivating, and audacious young teacher, whose impact on the lives of numerous students and colleagues will forever be cherished.

Mr. Stephen transcended the role of a mere colleague, as he embodied the qualities of a mentor, a friend, and an unwavering source of support for both students and fellow staff members. His dedication to education and his unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds have left an indelible impression on the school community. As we gather to grieve the loss of Mr. Stephen, let us also commemorate the lasting legacy he has left behind. The staff and students will undoubtedly feel his absence deeply.

The District Four Education Office, along with the entire District Four family, would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Stephen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you navigate through this challenging period.

May we all find comfort in the cherished memories we shared with him and remain united in supporting each other during this challenging time.
