On Dec. 19, 2023, and the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at advancing professional development training in the fields of Fire Fighting, Emergency Management, and Disaster Management and Response. The MOU aims to foster collaboration in the following areas:

♦️ Course Development
♦️ Pedagogical Training
♦️ Adherence to Standards
♦️ Certification of Courses

"This MOU aims to provide essential theoretical knowledge to the men and women of the Fire Service, in order to sufficiently prepare them to be able to perform effectively in their current posts and prepare them for upward mobility," said SLFS Chief Fire Officer Ditney Downes.

Joshua showcased his exceptional talent and resilience by securing an impressive 3rd place in the Under 18 Category and an equally remarkable 3rd place Overall. His remarkable performance not only highlights his prowess but also underscores his commitment to excellence and sportsmanship.

Last week, had the pleasure of hosting a contingent of 26 staff and students from the University of Guyana's International Relations Programme.

They attended a Caribbean Studies class and engaged in a discussion on issues facing Guyana and the wider Caribbean. They also toured the campus and had lunch at our Le Forte Restaurant.

The event was organized by our Academic Partnerships & Internationalization Unit.

On Tuesday Nov. 14, we had a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding between and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA). The MoU promotes cooperation in the following areas:

🔹Enhancing human resources in agriculture and related fields through educational and training programs in Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean.

🔹Strengthening training platforms, facilities, and innovation in agriculture, focusing on the SALCC Farm and Innovation Hub, and utilizing IICA and SALCC platforms for distance learning.

🔹Collaborating on projects of mutual interest and mobilizing external resources for development initiatives in member states at national and regional levels for both IICA and SALCC.
