We are incredibly grateful for the trust and faith our community has placed in KidsAbility over the past 14 years, and honoured to have supported more than 2,000 families within the Cayman community along the way.

Celebrating Occupational Therapy Month 💙

This month, we’re celebrating the incredible work of our Occupational Therapists (OTs) at KidsAbility 👏

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team:
✨ Mareli Joubert
✨ Eliné Cloete
✨ Gráinne Houlihan
✨ Arianna McCoy

Your dedication, creativity, and care make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we support every day.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy helps children build the skills they need for everyday life- at home, at school, and in the community.

This can include:
• Fine motor skills (writing, cutting, dressing)
• Sensory processing and regulation
• Attention and focus
• Independence with daily routines
• Emotional regulation and play skills

OT is all about helping children participate, succeed, and feel confident in their world.

Signs Your Child Might Benefit from OT

You might consider an OT assessment if your child:
• Struggles with handwriting, cutting, or using utensils
• Avoids certain textures, sounds, or environments
• Has difficulty with dressing, feeding, or self-care tasks
• Finds it hard to sit still, focus, or follow routines
• Becomes easily overwhelmed or has big emotional reactions
• Has challenges with coordination, balance, or body awareness

At KidsAbility, we take a child-first, strengths-based approach - meeting each child where they are and supporting them to thrive.

If you have questions about Occupational Therapy or would like to learn more, our team is here to help.

Supporting Co-Regulation in Schools 💛

We’re excited to be partnering with the Ministry of Education for an upcoming SENCO Connection Session focused on a topic that sits at the heart of student wellbeing:

Co-Regulation: The Adult’s Role in Supporting Emotional Regulation

🗓 April 30, 2026
⏰ 12:30 PM

In this session, we’ll explore how educators and support staff can intentionally use their presence, responses, and relationships to help students regulate emotions, build resilience, and feel safe in the learning environment.

This is a powerful opportunity for SENCOs to deepen their understanding of how co-regulation supports behaviour, learning, and connection in meaningful ways.

📩 SENCOs interested in attending can contact the Ministry of Education to receive the login link.

We look forward to connecting with you.
