Throwback to our Screen Free Day a couple of weeks ago. We don’t have many photos as we were avoiding screens! Many thanks to Dr. Basson for coming to talk to our families and for facilitating some insightful discussions. We are looking forward to extending Dr Basson’s knowledge and expertise with our Juniors and staff in the coming weeks following on from our first successful Screen Free initiative…

Island Primary entered two teams in the annual Battle of the Books competition on May 9th. Both teams were laser focused and did an excellent job of representing their school with pride. The Book Ninjas finished strong with 237 points, while the Bookie Monsters finished with 320 points, securing first place! We are so proud of the courage and commitment shown by the students!

In recognition of Emancipation Day we had a sea of Cayman Colours in our courtyard today. We also celebrated our cricketers, our house mural winners and spoke our upcoming Screen Free Day next week (more info on this last point to follow!)

After coming back from the Easter break, our Year 6 cohort went on the annual visit to Little Cayman where they took part in CCMI’s marine ecology course. They learned about the different types of fish and coral in and around the Cayman Islands and had the opportunity to snorkel and spot them in the wild. They really enjoyed spending time together, working as a team and doing fun activities such as beach games, board games and dorm time.
