Yesterday December 6 we had a great day for student swimmers at Blue Marlin Swim Academy, St. Kitts. We had competitions where children displayed their swim skills. There was 15 meters for ages 4-6, 25 meters for ages 7-8 and 9-10. Then the older children did 50 meters up to 500 meters. This was done in freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke. There were relays and the last race we had 2 competitors doing the 500 meters freestyle race. This was won by Mikhail Powell who finished the race strong. Children also received their certificates for completing the beginners' course.
A big thank you to all the parents who relentlessly support this program. Thanks to Mr. Larkland Richards who allows us to use his facility, thanks to Blue Water Safari, National Caribbean Insurance and Honorable Timothy Harris - Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, for their continued support in this program.
At the end the children were challenged to work hard and win easy. They were admonished that this attitude can be applied in every sphere of their lives.
PS. The Covid-19 protocols were followed.

[08/27/19] I am happy to share that Eldon's Swim Academy (eswim academy) is now a registered swim school in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Thanks to Ministry of Finance especially Miss Doore, and the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Lindsay Grant who personally assisted us in getting to this point. Thanks everyone else who has made this possible. Our goal is to have a facility constructed with 50 meter pool that meets the FINA requirements for competitive swimming. Get your children enrolled. Swimming saves lives.

[08/27/19] This is late but the summer swim camp was a exciting and was a tremendous success. The children had lots of fun while learning the basic skills for swimming. Friday ended with competitions and distributions of certificates and prizes. The swimmer of the year 2019-2020 is Zaiden Henry. He executed the freestyle, back stroke and breaststroke technique in the final competition and did so comfortably. He will be going on to train for the cross channel swim next year. He is 11 years old.
This young man started his classes in April 2019. Very determined to get it right and has been practicing a lot. Now he executing the freestyle and backstroke techniques.
Thursday camp session was very interesting. A presentation from the child protection services was done. She spoke on invasion of children space and privacy. She spoke on physical, sexual and emotional abuse and challenged the children never to keep silent when any of the above mentioned happens to them. The children are now more informed and educated on this subject and understand that if they experience abuse in any form, report it to the police or their parent or someone they trust. Never keep silent about abuse. We say a big thanks to Department of child protection services.
Interview with ZIZ. Thank them for always coming and capturing the program every year and sharing the information.
Day 3 of swim camp. This morning we had the coastguard demonstrating water safety and life saving techniques. They did an excellent job on that and the children did enjoy it.
Swim camp started off this morning with 40 children. Our first presenter was Mr. Vernon Connor. He motivated the children in believing that they are able to achieve what their mind can conceive. He inspired them to see themselves as champions, and that, they can be.
