NGO Bookbridge. Community Hero Kimsorn Ngam took the role of director and set the mission of making SmILe Academy a self-sustaining learning center that creates lasting positive impact and opportunities for children, youth, families and the community by providing life skills, quality education and access to learning resources. Chinese classes are also imparted and an IT department is being planned. Our curriculum is tailored to the community’s needs and it is focused on learning and discussing global issues such as climate change and gender equality. Our teachers are qualified with university degrees in Language Teaching. We offer affordable tuition fees that range from 12 to 20 USD per month to comply with our inclusion approach. This also ensures our long term sustainability. The learning center has a wide-ranging English book library to serve all the community for free. We are always open to collaborate with volunteers from all over the world to expose our students to different cultures and permeate our learning center with new teaching methods and ideas. Our long term vision is to bring joy and play into the community learning environment towards moving SmILe Academy from a language school to a Community Hub.
