Student council 2013/14
To all members of the sixth form; the sixth form room is in the process of being furnished and will be ready on Tuesday. To make sure that the room is truly OURS we came up with the idea of adding our own art work to the walls. If any of you have some art work you would like to bring in for the room email one of us!
Hey St Georges! This is the new student council posting for the first time… how exciting!
Firstly we would like to state how appreciative we are of the previous student council, which worked tremendously hard, often behind the scenes, to ensure our well-being. Unfortunately, change doesn’t occur over night, so many of the goals they fought for weren’t necessarily achieved during their year as a council. It is important that every student in the school recognises that many of their objectives , such as the seemingly impossible 6th form room, will be achieved (even as early as next week!), and we owe it ALL to them as it is 100% due to their hard work and dedication to task.
As the new council, we are incredibly excited to work with you and we really hope to improve the St Georges experience for everyone. We have already started working on new tasks such as the Wi-Fi, which is already being dealt with, and are having our first proper meeting on Monday, during which we will start structuring a new communication system and will start planning our agenda.
We are always open to any suggestions and we would really like to hear from you!
Sophie, Julian, Eyal, Michy, Livia, Goofy, Sarah and Eli.
You want the world to follow you but are you ready to LEAD? It's a big day tomorrow!
What do you think about having a STUDENT INTERVIEW PANEL? A group of students who interview new staff and choose which teachers are hired...
-12/03/13- The first Community Council! Consisting of members from Year 7-13. Now Student Council is no longer a Sixth Form Council... but a SCHOOL COUNCIL. More exciting things to come... watch this space. x
Student Council has been busy this week!
We're working on a CONSTITUTION which focuses on what SC would like to happen at St George's including:
- The new Sixth Form room
- The annulment of "Student Voice"
- Changing the way assemblies work
- The Student "Community Council" - a new group dedicated to hearing opinions and suggestions from ALL year groups not just Sixth Form
See you next week :)
Girls- go check out the newly fixed D floor bathrooms - with working taps and lights! ;) Thanks to Student Council!
Boys - your time will come... Get excited!

If we had a Student Council for Year 7,8,9,10 and 12 what would YOU call it?

Hello everyone, this is Lilian.
Following our Student Council Meeting today we would like to inform you of what will be going on during the upcoming weeks.
If you can't recall the Assembly that Mr Morgan held on TEDx-Transmedia and the MAXXI museum of Rome, then:
TED X was created in the spirit of TED's mission: IDEAS WORTH SPREADING. This program is designed to give communities the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.
on FRIDAY the 28TH of September there will be a conference at the MAXXI museum of Rome. It is a great privilege to attend such an inspirational and innovative program. Therefore we want some of the Sixth Formers to be involved.
We have 10 available tickets for this event.
In order for you to win one of those tickets, you will have to write a proposal in which you explain (IN A LIMIT OF 200 words)
-HOW YOU CAN COMMUNICATE THE EXPERIENCE AT THE TEDx CONFERENCE IN AN INNOVATIVE WAY. (Multimedia, Art, Performance, Speech, etc.etc.)
-WHY YOU WANT THIS TICKET
Send your proposals to:
[email protected]
IT WILL BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY.
love all.
