Vision for Transformation by Swami Tejomayananda from Chinmaya Mission
(Talks Inspired from the Bhagavad Gita)
Day 2 Takeaways
- Sattvic Vision
The ability to see one truth present everywhere
- Vision of Oneness, brings change in our life
- When we look at people as our own, there is love for other beings
- Work / Seva is love made visible
- When we love someone then the Seva done is joyous
- With love, the way we think and act is different
- Inspite of all the differences at the physical level, only one imperishable truth is seen
- Bhakta is a person who hates none, is friendly to all and is ever ready to serve. Such a person's joy is boundless
- Loveless life is joyless life
- Sattvic person creates Integration
- With Wholistic vision, everything has got a place
- Sattvic or noble Vision creates unconditional love
Rajasic Vision
- We see world with fleshy eyes
- We see all beings as different , unable to see oneness.
- We consider differences alone to be the reality.
We don't understand or look for common ground or common factor.
- Vision of differences creates likes and dislikes, prejudices, partialities, superiorities, inferiorities, favoritism, nepotism etc.
- In rajasic vision, we tend to rule over others
- In the sway of Rajasic vision, our knowledge and happiness is looted away
- The problem is our likes and dislikes also are not permanent, they also keep changing.
- Pleasing self also becomes difficult with this kind of value system
- Klesha leads to Clash
Tamasic Vision
- Tamasic Vision is dull/ faulty/ ignorant/ limited
- In Tamasic vision we take one finite thing as the most important thing
- We take one part as the whole
- In this Vision there is no truth or substance. It is illogical.
- There is only foolish attachment
(Example -
Tamasic vision -
Sport is life
Wholistic or Sattvic vision - Life is a sport )
- In a narrow vision we get attached fanatically and this vision influences every aspect of our life.

Vision for Transformation by Swami Tejomayananda
(Inspired from the Bhagavad Gita)
Day 1 Takeaways
- Enquire into what is happiness, we do not think much about it.
- We go on raising our status but do we really feel fulfilled?
- There is no qualitative change
- Success comes but only in a particular field
- Joy, happiness, contentment keeps eluding
- Body of a lion but heart is of a rat (fear still continues)
- If you do nothing new, you will keep getting the same, old results
- Transformation comes only when our vision changes
- We have seen even for better physical health, our quality of life needs to changed
- Our character has already formed, life has become computerized for most of us
- Our actions and responses depend on our vision of life
- Vision of Vedanta is Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita is the essence of Upanishads
- Today our vision is partial, we have made many divisions
- Life needs to be looked at as One unit / whole to gain completeness
- Vedanta says to look at life as one whole
- Vision is divided into
Best (Sattvic) / Mediocre (Rajasic) / Faulty (Tamasic)
- Understanding of life and situations depend on the vision
- We wake up from sleep, open our eyes and then start walking the same thing needs to be done in life
" Watch before you walk"
- Sattvic / Wholistic vision points out the oneness in all beings, there is only one life principle in all of us
