Vision for Transformation by Swami Tejomayananda from Chinmaya Mission
(Talks Inspired from the Bhagavad Gita)

Day 2 Takeaways

- Sattvic Vision
The ability to see one truth present everywhere
- Vision of Oneness, brings change in our life
- When we look at people as our own, there is love for other beings
- Work / Seva is love made visible
- When we love someone then the Seva done is joyous
- With love, the way we think and act is different
- Inspite of all the differences at the physical level, only one imperishable truth is seen
- Bhakta is a person who hates none, is friendly to all and is ever ready to serve. Such a person's joy is boundless
- Loveless life is joyless life
- Sattvic person creates Integration
- With Wholistic vision, everything has got a place
- Sattvic or noble Vision creates unconditional love

Rajasic Vision
- We see world with fleshy eyes
- We see all beings as different , unable to see oneness.
- We consider differences alone to be the reality.
We don't understand or look for common ground or common factor.
- Vision of differences creates likes and dislikes, prejudices, partialities, superiorities, inferiorities, favoritism, nepotism etc.
- In rajasic vision, we tend to rule over others
- In the sway of Rajasic vision, our knowledge and happiness is looted away
- The problem is our likes and dislikes also are not permanent, they also keep changing.
- Pleasing self also becomes difficult with this kind of value system
- Klesha leads to Clash

Tamasic Vision
- Tamasic Vision is dull/ faulty/ ignorant/ limited
- In Tamasic vision we take one finite thing as the most important thing
- We take one part as the whole
- In this Vision there is no truth or substance. It is illogical.
- There is only foolish attachment
(Example -
Tamasic vision -
Sport is life

Wholistic or Sattvic vision - Life is a sport )
- In a narrow vision we get attached fanatically and this vision influences every aspect of our life.

Day 1 Takeaways

- Enquire into what is happiness, we do not think much about it.
- We go on raising our status but do we really feel fulfilled?
- There is no qualitative change

- Body of a lion but heart is of a rat (fear still continues)
- If you do nothing new, you will keep getting the same, old results
- Transformation comes only when our vision changes
- We have seen even for better physical health, our quality of life needs to changed
- Our character has already formed, life has become computerized for most of us
- Our actions and responses depend on our vision of life
- Vision of Vedanta is Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita is the essence of Upanishads
- Today our vision is partial, we have made many divisions
- Life needs to be looked at as One unit / whole to gain completeness
- Vedanta says to look at life as one whole
- Vision is divided into
Best (Sattvic) / Mediocre (Rajasic) / Faulty (Tamasic)
- Understanding of life and situations depend on the vision

13/07/2021

Takeaways from Day 3 -
Sadhana Panchakam

- Always keep the goal in front of your eyes
- Already we have received more than we deserve, give up this thought about what will I get ?
- Think about what I can do for others ?
- All that keeps us away from our true self is SIN
- Give up prohibited karma ruthlessly
- Remain steadfast in Kartavya Karma as God's worship
- Prohibited Karms are below human dignity, result we ourselves don't want, the result of indulging in prohibited karmas is polluted mind
- When our senses contact with sense objects, we experience thrill but it cannot give us happiness
- Constantly reflect on this - What you think as happiness, it is not.
- What we think as happiness is only comfort, sensation, temporary relief but then what ?
- Happiness is that which should put an end to our sorrow
- We understand worldly sorrow as sorrow but we do not understand that worldly joy is also sorrow, this is difficult to understand.
- We think we will be happy once I get that object , here we are already putting our happiness in the future
- We all know future is uncertain
- Even if I get the object, will it last ??
- Pleasure lasts only for a few moments but the bo***ge it creates is lasting
- One desire gives rise to other desires
- We have to rise above worldly joy and sorrow
- Do satsang and study daily
- Atma is Ananda Swaroop (above worldly joy and sorrow)
- Our intensity for the desire for self knowledge must become very intense
- When our desire will become intense, we won't even ask.

05-Bhagavad Geeta Chapter 7 | #Chinmaya105 | #SwamiChinmayananda | #BhagavadGita | #ChinmayaMission

Quick Pointers from discourse
May 11, 2021 on 7th chapter of Bhagavad Geeta by Swami Chinmayananda

• The Spark of Life that kindles everything and because of which we are alive, is Krishna’s Higher Nature.
• “Jagat” is that which is in a constant state of flux (change).
• A Flag flutters only at the free end, while the side that is tied to the pole is steadier. Similarly, only on the surface, we see disturbances and differences. The closer we get to the Reality, the lesser are the disturbances and differences. At the Reality, there are no disturbances or differences.
• The Ocean is calm and tranquil at the bottom, but has ferocious, ever changing waves on the surface. The waves are also the Ocean, in its manifest form (Lower Nature).
• It is the ego-centric misconceptions of the Self that create sorrows.
• Both, the steady Higher Nature and the ever changing Lower Nature are Krishna. Both are divine.
• The world is a joyous laughter of the Almighty! 
• We can see a quality in another, only if we ourselves possess that quality. Only a person who understands art can appreciate a true artist. Similarly, we can see the Truth only because we ourselves possess it within us.
• Only with one’s own unfoldment, can he see the unfoldment of another being, be it a saint or a sinner.
