Kobudo Seminar under Hanshi Katsutaka Tanaka 9th Dan Black Belt at Vidya Valley School, Pune on 28th & 29th Nov'19. Pics snapped during the session. We all enjoyed an amazing day with Hanshi Katsutaka Tanaka the legend. Such a rare honor to learn with a Master of his calibre. Day 1 was Bo & Tonfa.. Day 2 we practice Sai and Nunchaku followed by Kobudo Examination.

We have lost a legend :-(

This morning we heard the very sad news that Soke Kanazawa peacefully passed away on the 8th December 2019. Soke needs no introduction - the legendary Shotokan Master who founded SKIF, and who is renowned for being one of the most traditional Shotokan Masters. We Traditional Karate & Martial Art Training Centre are extremely sad to hear this news and pass on our deepest condolences and Sympathy to his immediate Family - The Kanazawa’s - Nobuaki Kancho, Daizo, Fumitoshi Sensei and all their wives and his grand children. To the whole of Soke’s SKIF Family all over the World - We say goodbye to a true gentleman and great Karate-Ka who trail blazed Shotokan Karate for what it is today. We say thank you for all you have done and we trust you are now at peace. Rest in Peace Soke, from TKMATC & Sensei Ayan Chakraborty.

Hanshi Asano is chairman & Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate International (GB) & Shotokan Karate International European Federation. A graduate of Takushoku University, Tokio and a former pupil of O Sensei Masatoshi Nakayama. Hanshi Asano taught in Germanay & Liverpool before finally taking up residence in Nottingham. Hanshi Asano has lived in England for Fifty one years.

A very sad day today with the passing of Sensei Stan Schmidt, a world famous Shotokan exponent & Pioneer of South African Shotokan Karate. A man who the whole Shotokan World feels justly deserves LEGEND title. For a few years now he fought a lung problem ( IPF ) Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Traditional Karate & Martial Art Training Centre Condolences to the Schmidt family. A huge loss for the karate world. May he R.I.P.
