☞ Addressing the first Chintan Shivir (brainstorming session) of state home ministers and top police officers, Prime Minister of India pitched the idea of “One Nation, One Uniform” for Indian police forces.
☞ Prime Minister’s suggestion “One Nation, One Uniform” is in line with his broader attempt to introduce a uniform set of policies across the country.
☞ The Indian Constitution puts police forces under the jurisdiction of state governments, and each state have their own police force.
☞ Both ‘public order’ and the ‘police’ are placed in List II (State List) of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution, which deals with the division of powers between the Union and States.
☞ While police personnel in India are often associated with the colour khaki, their uniforms do differ in varying degrees in different regions.

✪✪The Kolkata Police wear white uniforms.
✪✪Puducherry Police constables wear a bright red cap with their khaki uniforms.
✪✪Delhi Traffic Police personnel wear white and blue uniforms.

➤Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)
☞The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was passed by the parliament in 1967.
☞The UAPA provides for more effective prevention of certain unlawful activities of individuals and associations, and for dealing with terrorist activities.
☞UAPA was said to be an enhancement of the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA), which lapsed in 1995 and the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) which was repealed in 2004.
☞According to the law, “Unlawful Activities” are those actions by individuals or associations which:
✪ Intends or supports any claims that bring about the cession or secession of a part of the territory of India, or
✪ Disrupts the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India, or
✪ Intends to cause disaffection against India.
☞The Act accords absolute power to the Union Government and has the death penalty and life imprisonment as the highest punishments.
☞The Act has been amended multiple times by successive governments in 2004, 2008, 2013 and 2019.

The Blue Flag is an eco-label (certification) awarded to beaches, marinas and sustainable boat tourism operators that meet a comprehensive set of requirements.

“Two more Indian beaches have made it to the list of Blue Beaches.
1.Minicoy, Thundi Beach and
2. Kadmat Beach - both in Lakshadweep - are the proud entrants in the coveted list of Blue Beaches, an eco-label given to the cleanest beaches in the world," said Union Environment Minister, Bhupender Yadav.
✔As of October 2022, Twelve (12) Beaches in India have been awarded the prestigious certification, namely:
1.Golden Beach – Odisha
2.Shivrajpur Beach – Gujarat
3.Kappad Beach – Kerala
4.Ghoghla Beach – Diu
5.Radhanagar Beach – Andaman and Nicobar
6.Kasarkod Beach – Karnataka
7.Padubidri Beach – Karnataka
8.Rushikonda Beach – Andhra Pradesh
9.Kovalam Beach – Tamil Nadu
10.Eden Beach – Puducherry
11.Minicoy, Thundi Beach-Lakshadweep
12.Kadmat Beach - Lakshadweep
✔The Blue Flag Certification is awarded by a non-profit organization called the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
✔The FEE is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
It was founded in 1981 as the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe (FEEE).
Currently, it has 77 member countries.
✔Blue Flag Certification in India:
In June 2018 it was reported that Chandrabhaga beach on the Konark coast of Odisha is not only India’s but also Asia’s first beach to get the Blue Flag certification.
