The story begins with LRN Founder, Devaki, a shy girl who grew up to be a confident storyteller. How did this magical transformation happen?

Stumbling but learning from each of her mistakes, Devaki discovered the power of words. Using the right words when we speak - to ourselves and to others - builds our confidence - both inside and out. And with that confidence, we can WOW the world!

We all can do this. And the earlier we learn, the better. And hence... LRN's Mission WOW.

A Saturday afternoon well spent telling stories and chatting with the wonderful children of the SalaamBaalak Trust - a trust that provides full care and protection to street children through health and nutrition, mental health, quality education & vocational training.

Happy to see the children participate full-on and thanks to them for being an amazing audience.

When the pandemic hit last year, things were uncertain. Our work took a pause but... WE DID NOT STOP!

Slowly but surely, we took our story sessions and classes online. This May marks a year of our online work. Not the most ideal of circumstances, yet it feels good to know we continue to make a difference.

In that vein, we were honoured to conduct a training workshop for 18 teachers of the fabulous Da Vinci Montessori, Mumbai in the 'Art of Online Storytelling' yesterday. And were glad to know the teachers found valuable insights in our workshop.

Dear Parent,

'SEWA - Stories of Empathy, Wisdom and Abundance' is a humble contribution by Little Readers' Nook story educators in these difficult times. Let's set aside Covid worries and talk, listen, connect and empower our children!

Suitable for ages 6+, we propose to host a fun informal session where the facilitator will share a short but thought-provoking story and invite children to express their thoughts and feelings.

We welcome all children, especially those of Covid warriors or from Covid affected families. The session is free but registration is mandatory. We have multiple session options.

Author of "The Rainbow Frock" ~ six year old Toshan lives in Mysore. His interests include Indian mythology, patriotic movies, history and the Avengers :) His role models are Bhagat Singh, Sangolli Rayanna, Krishna and Karna. He recites several shlokas of the Bhagavad-gita. His hobbies include singing, playing the keyboard, drawing, trekking, reading action stories with colorful illustrations.

Six year old Nayara, author of "The Happy Pyramid" lives in Mysore. She loves nature and is happiest in open spaces, watching wildlife and O yes dancing in the rain. Her hobbies include drawing, painting, swimming, craft work. Nayara aspires to be an illustrator when she grows up.

Ira author of "Pumpkin Girl" lives in Munich, Germany. She is multilingual, with German being her major language. She loves swimming, dancing and playing the piano. But her most favourite pastime is ~ stories – listening, making up her own, becoming pretend characters and daydreaming :)

13th February ~ was a warm and a cosy saturday evening at our nook, as families and friends zoomed in from around the world to cheer.

The pictures say it all. As mothers and grandparents of our very new authors Ira , Toshan, Vetharithika, Nayara expressed their happiness it touched our hearts.
