The Department of Optometry at George College Of Management and Science hosted an eye camp at Mitra Institute, Bhawanipur on 20th of December 2022. This was a wonderful learning experience for the students. Here are some of the few glimpses from the day.

George Group of Colleges gave a platform to all the Alumni of George College to relive their college days once again.

Optometry department of George College Of Management and Science organized two days eye camp at New Alipore Multipurpose High School (Boys) on the 15th and 16th of December 2022. This was a wonderful experience for the students. Here are some of the few glimpses of from the days.

George School of Law organises Aloha, The Freshers Welcome 2022 on 20th December, 2022 at Rabindra Bhavan, Konnagar.

The students of George School of Law participated in various categories of Anweshan 2022, the 10th International Law Festival by Jyotirmoy School of Law, such as Dance, Song, Creative writing, 60 seconds to fame, Quiz etc.

Sanjana Giri, a student of 1st Semester also won first prize in 60 seconds to fame.
The students also got 3rd position in Quiz. Around 30 students attended the event actively and also got to witness a live program by Bangla Band "Fossils."

George College (Department of Education),3rd semester B.Ed Life science field trip was organised on 26/11/2022 to Piyali Island. It was indeed a very successful trip as all the students enjoyed the adventurous trip very much. Students took pictures of different flora and fauna and collected some live specimen for writing the report as a part of their practicum. The journey started from Sealdah station at 7.30 am in the morning and we returned back at Sealdah station at around 7 pm in the evening. Total 18 students participated in this field trip or day tour. Piyali island is the gateway of Sunderban and it has rich flora and fauna. We saw kingfisher, drongo, egret, babler, oriole, treepie and many more birds. Piyali Island is the birdwatchers paradise and in winter many migratory birds come this place for nesting. And we witnessed many butterfly including Mormon, tiger, jejebel, pancy etc. Many more trips to come next year....

The Heritage cell of MAKAUT, West Bengal and the governing body of Murshidabad Heritage Development Society is organised the Murshidabad Heritage Conclave on the occasion of the World Heritage week.
The conclave has witnessed luminaries, academicians, Heritage experts from across the state.
The students from the Travel and Tourism Department attended the conclave.

Wasim Akram, a student of LLB-H, 4th Semester of George School of Law, has completed his one month internship under Senior Adv. Dr. Pradeep Rai ,Vice President of The Supreme Court Bar Association in the month of November. He has also got a chance to attend TEDx DEEN DAYAL UCHARIYA COLLEGE , Delhi University, on the 4th Day of November, 2022.
He has also got the opportunity to meet eminent personalities during his internship at Delhi. He has met - Mr. Aman Singh Sethi, Partner of Shardul Amarchand Mangadas, Speaker of Anti Competition Agreement, NLU, DELHI; Mr. Pravin H Parekh, a senior counsel practising at Supreme Court of India who has served six times as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association of India and was conferred with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian honour; Mr.NAVIN KUMAR JAGGI, Advocate of Supreme Court of India and CEO of Jaggi Jaggi And Jaggi, International Attorneys at Law - TRIPLE-J; Mr. Karnal Singh. Advocate, Founder & Managing Partner, Circle of Counsels, Retired IPS officer and Former Chief of Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Author; Mr. Konakuppakatil Gopinathan Balakrishnan, an Indian judge who has been the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of India and also a former Chief Justice of India, was the first judge from Kerala to become the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; Mr. Adv. Sovi Bipneet Singh , CEO of SBS LEGAL SOLUTIONS, Senior Advocate, The Supreme Court of India; Mr. Kiren Rijiju, Cabinet Minister of Law and Justice in the Government of India; Dr. Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud, an Indian judge who is serving as the 50th and current Chief Justice of India and is a former ex-officio executive chairman of National Legal Services Authority whilst being of the Supreme Court of India; Adv. Rohit Pandey, Secretary of The Supreme Court Bar Association; Mr. Aman Saini, an Indian archer, won the silver medal in Asian Games 2018 in the Men's compound archery team event and completed his studies at Richmond's global school, Delhi, and trained under his coach Surender Garg. Retired Soldier And An Advocate Col Amit Kumar (retd), Mr. Dhanendra Kumar is a civil servant who was the first Chair of Competition Commission of India. Kumar formerly served as Executive Director at World Bank; Dr. M. S. Sahoo, Distinguished Professor, NLUD and former Chairperson, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India ; Hon'ble Justice Mr. Navin Sinha Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court; Mr.Chetan Sharma Ld.Addl.Solicitor General of India, Delhi High Court; Adv. Mr.Harish Chander Suri, Delhi High Court, Formerly appointed as Technical Member in National Company Law Tribunal; Mr. Ramanuj Mukherjee is a corporate lawyer turned entrepreneur and an alumnus of National University of Juridical Sciences and is also a co-founder & CEO of "i Pleaders"

On 18th November, 2022, George School of Law organised a court visit to the District Judge's Court, Chinsurah, Hooghly for the final semester students of LLB-H.
District Judge Abhijit Som has met and addressed the students. The students had a great interactive session with him. They also witnessed ongoing practical cases in various court rooms of the court which helped them in gaining practical experience.

Students of George College Of Management and Science was privileged to attend the inaugural ceremony and technical session of MURSHIDABAD HERITAGE CONCLAVE at ILEAD organised by the Heritage Cell of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and the Governing body of Murshidabad Heritage Development Society on 24th of November,2022. Here are few glimpses.

George School of Law organised a Legal Awareness program on 22nd November at Nagpuriya Basty, Khal dhar, Uttarpara, Hooghly jointly with District Legal Services Authority, Hooghly and Sankalp Today.
Sharmistha Ghosh, Secretary of District Legal Service Authority and Assistant Sessions Judge, Adv Arindam Banerjee, DLSA, Hooghly, Adv Yasmin Khatoon, DLSA, Howrah and Imtiaz Bhartiya, Secretary, Sankalp Today Legal Awareness Mission etc.
The program was to sensitise ST/ SC people about their rights and also the role and functions of DLSA, and also the law students about their social responsibility towards society as a Lawyer. The final semester students of LLB-H have attended the same and they had great hands-on experience. They have also learned to serve the society and for the less privileged people. Few of them have also got an opportunity for a month's internship at District Legal Services Authority.
We have also distributed chocolates to the underprivileged children of the locality followed by felicitation of meritorious students of that locality by Sankalp Today.

On 17th November, 2022, George School of Law organised a court visit to the District Judge's Court, Chinsurah, Hooghly for the final semester students of LLB-H.
Public Prosecutor Adv. Sankar Ganguly, Government Pleader Adv. Sanjukta Ganguli were present there and the students got the opportunity to meet and interact with them.
District Judge Abhijit Som has met and addressed the students. The students had a great interactive session with all of them. They also witnessed ongoing practical cases in various court rooms of the court which helped them in gaining practical experience.

The Department of Hospital Management of George College, Sealdah Campus arranged a second round of mock interview sessions for the students of HM 5th semester.

The students from George Group of Colleges have attended *WWAD - "Walk With A Difference" - Fashion with Disability!! - Fashion Walk for Differently Abled organised by Aimsmedia.

On 12th November, 2022, George School of Law organised a visit to the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Chinsurah, Hooghly on the purpose of National Lok Adalat organised by the District Legal Services Authority for the final semester students of LLB-H.
President of Consumer Forum, Hooghly, has addressed the students. The students had a great interactive session with him.
Students also got a chance to have a practical experience in various benches related to their syllabus of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

On 17th November, Rotary Club of Calcutta and George Group of Colleges conducted "I Believe I Can" session at Barunhat High School at Hasnabad. Class 11 and 12 students have attended the session. Students enquired about various courses. Overall the session was interactive and successful.

George School of Law has organised a Poster Presentation on various legal topics for the students of various semesters.

Students presented their posters in multiple groups and also posted the posters in their classrooms on the college campus. There are topics like - Women Empowerment, LGBTQ etc. Students had given a beautiful pictorial representation on the sections of the given topics.

The students of The Department of Clinical Psychology, The Gayatri Chetna Foundation, CCPTR, MAKAUT conducted workshops with school children and adolescents of different Government schools in Taki and Hasnabad area of West Bengal to celebrate Child Rights Week, 2022.
Students covered various mental health topics along with mental hygiene, menstruation and s*x education along with prevention of child abuse.
The children and adolescents were very interactive and gained a lot of knowledge.

Students of George College ( Department of education ) of B.Ed course are doing teaching practice as interns. Whatever they've learnt in the B.Ed course is engaged now in real classroom teaching at secondary and Higher secondary level and practicing their teaching skills at North Point School, St. Thomas Girls' , Kalidhan Institution. It's An great opportunity for the students to apply their skills in real classroom situation.

On 12th November, 2022, George School of Law organised a visit to the Sub divisional Court, Serampore, Hooghly on the purpose of National Lok Adalat organised by the District Legal Services Authority for the final semester students of LLB-H.
Adv. Suman Das, Judicial Magistrate 5th Court Hooghly & Adv. Akram Ahmed, Additional Civil Court, has addressed the students. The students had a great interactive session with him.
Students also got a chance to visit the office of Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre, Serampore, Hooghly where they had a practical experience related to their syllabus of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

George School of LAW organised The Second Inter Semester Football Tournament 2k22 on 11th & 12th November from 2 PM at Konnagar Olympic Institute Ground.

All the batches of BALLB & LLB-H participated. On the second and final day, 1 semi final and the final matches were held where the students played well and enjoyed the tournament thoroughly.

The finals were between 3rd semester BA LLB v/s 7th Semester BALLB. The match ended with a grand win by the 3rd Semester BA LLB batch of George School of Law.

On 12th November, 2022, George School of Law organised a visit to the District Judge's Court, Chinsurah, Hooghly on the purpose of National Lok Adalat organised by the District Legal Services Authority for the final semester students of LLB-H.

Honourable Justice T.S. Sivagnanam, Calcutta High Court was present there for a special visit and the students got the opportunity to meet them.

District Judge Abhijit Som, First Additional District Judge Sanjay Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjay Naskar, District Judges' Court, Hooghly and Assistant Session's Judge from State Legal Services Authority have addressed the students. The students had a great interactive session with them.

George School of LAW organised The Second Inter Semester Football Tournament on 11th & 12th November from 2 PM at Konnagar Olympic Institute Ground.

All the batches of BALLB & LLB-H participated. On the first day, the quarter finals and one semi final were held where the students played well and enjoyed the tournament thoroughly.

The Quest 2k22 - The Annual Intra college program of George School of Law, Konnagar will be happening on 13th, 15th & 16th December, 2022 at College Campus.
