MCKVians celebrated Diwali- the festival of lights, shine, sparkle, togetherness and happiness in the school campus this week.
The Foundational Stage students were a part of the week-long festivity. Our boys participated in interactive sessions with their teachers and classmates pledging to celebrate a green Diwali. Keeping with the traditions associated with Diwali, a classroom cleanliness drive was organized. Students of the Pre-Primary section created craft items like paper folding diyas, colourful paper lanterns and greeting cards. The flower rangoli decoration by the students and teachers of the Foundational Stage in the school’s atrium area was splendid. Our little ones gifted one another dry fruits and sweets, thus bringing to life a quintessential Diwali day.
A special assembly was also organized on 9 November 2023 where our choir boys greeted everyone a Happy Diwali, our dance troupe presented a marvellous tribute to Goddess Kali and our Prefectorial Body members lit up the atrium with candles and diyas.
The celebrations were a manifestation of the true spirit of Diwali and a promise that light will triumph dispelling darkness.

======================
As the city unites to welcome Goddess Durga, the Interactors of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth paid a visit to the Seba Old Age Home to celebrate Mahalaya with its residents on 14 October 2023.
In keeping with the traditions associated with Durga Puja, our Interactors gifted clothes to the residents of the home, adding to the air of celebration all around. A special breakfast and a delicious lunch were also served to them. The best part of the day was undoubtedly the invaluable time spent interacting with the elderly women, listening to their stories, thereby creating space for a meaningful exchange of experiences and fostering a sense of trust and friendship. The touching recitation and the soulful song by the Interactors brought priceless smiles to the eighteen faces. Truly the short trip marked a grand beginning to the festive season as our boys realized that empathy and kindness make a huge difference in the lives of others.

A Session On Building Reading Habit for Class 3 Children
=========================
Instilling a love for reading from an early age is often the key to lifelong learning. Besides creating exciting formative experiences in children, reading builds socio-emotional skills and help children make sense of the world and people around them like nothing else does.
On 12 October 2023, the Wellness Centre of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth organized a programme to help the students of Class 3 to reap the innumerable benefits of reading. With the help of games, videos and presentations, Dr Apala Chatterjee and Ms Mousumi Chowdhury, our school counsellors, highlighted the necessity of developing the habit of reading and made the students realize the advantages of engaging in this simple yet profound activity.
The enthusiasm in the library classes post the session makes us hope that, in an age where stories disappear within 24 hours, our boys will be able to discover the true essence of reading.

M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth in collaboration with The Birdwatchers’ Society organized Walk by Sound, a bird-watching trip, at Botanical Garden on 23 and 24 September 2023.
The main objective of this unique activity was to introduce our boys to the world of birds, enhance their observation power along with developing patience, and simultaneously calling attention to the need of bird conservation.
A presentation on bird watching and identification techniques was made by Mr Bharatendra Singh Parihar, a member of Birdwatchers’ Society. He familiarized our students with the various ways of identifying birds based on their shape, size, colour pattern, beak, wing, tail, legs, behaviour and habitat.
Besides nurturing admiration for nature and its beautiful creations, this short field trip developed a sense of social responsibility for creating an environment for birds to live under the care of nature.

============
Along with the entire country, the students of the Preparatory Stage of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi, the birth of Lord Ganesha, the God of prosperity, on 19 September 2023.
While the students of Class 3 created beautiful craftwork depicting Lord Ganesha using colourful lentils, Class 4 students paid homage in their own special way by sharing Lord Ganesha’s favourite sweets with their friends. Some of our children made miniature replicas of the Elephant God using play dough. Our young artists of Class 5 sketched captivating images of the Lord in His many avatars. It was really a unique day for all the children to celebrate with devotion and piety.

Teachers have existed as long as humankind, and although the formats have changed over time, their influence and role remain constant and far-reaching.
On 5 September 2023, MCKVians welcomed their teachers with roses - a gesture symbolic of their appreciation and gratitude. The morning brightened up for the teachers as the students presented a special assembly featuring original poems composed by our students and a unique instrumental performance. The best part of the day was the role-reversal, where our boys shouldered various responsibilities that their teachers take up every day. The day culminated in a cake-cutting ceremony where fond memories were created together.
Teachers' Day celebration in MCKV was about acknowledging the incredible work that the teachers perform every day and it was truly worth every effort when we saw our teachers enjoy themselves and take time off just for a little while.

"Happy Teachers' Day to all the dedicated educators around the world! Your tireless efforts in shaping the future are truly appreciated. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to education."

In keeping with the tradition of rakhi celebration at MCKV, girl children of our neighbouring school tied rakhis on the wrists of our boys. Our boys, in turn, gifted their sisters with a bag full of goodies and happiness.
Besides learning a lesson of remaining rooted to our culture and tradition, the occasion helped to forge a beautiful partnership between the two schools.
