The good thing about the creative industry is that it offers a wide range of jobs and opportunities, and it’s ever-evolving with technology. In addition, creative jobs can be flexible – there’s the possibility of certain jobs to be done via short-term contracts, freelance work or even remotely. Here, we look at 7 jobs suitable for creative minds.
1. Creative Director
Creative directors usually oversee and conceptualize the creative projects of a company or agency; from packaging, brochures and online advertising, to marketing, web design and multimedia design. Creative directors are typically marketers or visual communications specialists with a few years of experience. A pathway to becoming a creative director could begin with studying a course in marketing or design. These types of qualifications can be helpful when trying to market yourself to potential employers.
2. Graphic Designer
Graphic designers create graphics, logos, EDMs and illustrations for brands or companies using a variety of media and software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop for commercial purposes. In order to become a graphic designer, a course such as graphic design and desktop publishing will take you through design fundamentals and then into advanced digital illustration and web design. Once you’ve learned the ins and outs of design and started building up your portfolio, you’ll be on the path to a great creative career in graphic design.
3. Art Director
Art directors are in charge of the design staff when executing a concept outlined in a brief. While a very artistic and creative career path, art directors must also have strong analytical, technical and project management skills in order to meet deadlines and achieve the client’s goal. To be an art director you can study a creative career first, such as photography or interior design. Then you can start gaining experience in an agency.
Writing may seem like a career you could never get a steady paycheck from – but the world is filled with advertisements, brochures, reports, guidelines, contracts, pamphlets and phrases, all created by writers. Virtually every digital marketing, e-commerce, and advertising agency needs a copywriter to fabricate the description of products and the content in advertisements and commercials. To become a copywriter, you can start by studying a course like journalism or communications.
5. Photo Stylist
In commercial photography, it’s not just about simply snapping the photo, but also about setting the mood or scene for the shoot. This is what a photo stylist does, and photo styling is one of the most important jobs in commercial photography. To become a photographer or photo stylist, you can start by studying photography, gaining experience in a commercial setting and working your way up.
6. Web Designer
Nowadays, with almost every business requiring a website and digital presence, a career in web design is very promising. Web designers usually need to possess general creative skills, such as drawing abilities and an ability to create aesthetically pleasing combinations of colour and form. These types of skills can be learned through a graphic design course. More technical elements of web design, such as scripting and programming skills will involve additional study, through a web design course.
7. Advertising Manager
As an advertising manager, you’ll oversee lots of departments in the company and get to work on major creative projects within it. Advertising managers work with sales agents, art directors and other members of relevant teams in order to make effective and memorable advertising campaigns for different organisations and products. This position can also be found in a number of creative industries, from TV and radio to magazines and the digital world. Kick-start your creative career with a course in advertising, where you’ll learn about the creative process, agency structure, memory mechanisms, sales and distribution.
Turn your creative passion into profit
While the little voice in your head might tell you that a law degree is better than a design one, stop worrying. Creative jobs do exist, and well-paid, full-time opportunities are out there. Just inform yourself on what options are available, follow your passion, and focus on improving your skills.. 3D Animation Nursery rhymes and songs dominate this years list of the most popular videos on YouTube Kids, according to YouTube. Seven of the top 10 most popular videos in 2019 are nursery rhymes or kids songs.
The number one most watched video is 36-minute “This is the way + More Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs” (pictured), with 128 million views on YouTube proper since it was uploaded in February. It was created by popular preschool channel Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes (66.8 million subscribers).
YouTube didn’t share how many views each video got on YouTube Kids, but the views on YouTube itself are public.
Next up, popular kidfluencer Ryan from Ryan’s World (formerly Ryan ToysReview) snagged the second spot with the “ABC Song Learn English Alphabet for Children with Ryan! | Kids Nursery Rhymes” video. That four-minute video, launched in January, has earned more than 154 million views on YouTube.
Taking third place is Entertainment One’s popular Peppa Pig brand with the hour-long “Peppa Pig Goes to Digger World! Parents’ Day Special, ” which has more than 31 million views on YouTube. It’s one of the few non-musical or nursery rhyme-focused videos to make it into the top-10. The other non-musical videos also come from some of the biggest brands in kids entertainment, including Nick Jr.’s short video “Junior Dress Up Party! ft. PAW Patrol + Shimmer & Shine Ep. 6″ (25 million views) at number four and Disney Junior UK’s short “PJ Masks | The Easter Egg Hunt” (2 million views) comes in at number eight.
YouTube Kids is slowly growing its reach with UK preschoolers, with 22% using the platform to view content in 2019, up from 21% in 2018, according to market research firm Child wise. The platform went through some shifts this year after YouTube agreed to pay US$170 million to the FTC and New York Attorney General to settle allegations that it was violating children’s privacy laws. The day after it reached that agreement, YouTube launched a US$100 million fund to help content makers create original kids content for its platforms globally, after it was announced that targeted ads would be removed from videos made for kids.
The full list of the most popular videos on the platform from 2019 is:

3D Animation in India, Disney Junior orders toon inspired by Indian culture
In its ongoing drive to represent diverse cultures in front of and behind the camera, Disney Junior has greenlit Mira, Royal Detective (pictured) an animated mystery adventure series for preschoolers inspired by Indian culture and customs.
Set in the magical Indian-inspired land of Jalpur, the series stars 15 year-old newcomer Leela Ladnier as Mira, a brave and resourceful young commoner who is made the royal detective after solving a mystery and saving the kingdom’s young prince. Each episode will feature authentic music, dance and customs in two 11minute stories that encourage critical thinking and deductive reasoning.
Produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior, the series has begun production for an expected 2020 launch on Disney Junior channels and programming blocks worldwide.
Ladnier is joined by an all star voice cast that includes Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) as Mira’s aunt Pushpa; Kamran Lucas (Disneys MechX4) as inventor Prince Neel Kal Penn (Designated Survivor) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project) as comical mongoose sidekicks Mikku and Chikku, and Hannah Simone (New Girl) as a young commoner named Pinky.
Disney’s Miles from Tomorrowland showrunner Sascha Paladino is executive producing the series, which was developed by Becca Topol (Elena of Avalor), who also serves as story editor. IW Group’s Shagorika Ghosh is the show’s cultural consultant, while additional consultants include Bollywood dancer and choreographer Nakul Dev Mahajan (So You Think You Can Dance) and music producer Deepak Ramapriyan (Basmati Blues).
The series arrives as the call for more representation on television is growing and follows the success of Disney’s Sofia the First spinoff Elena of Avalor featuring Disney’s first princess inspired by Latin cultures and folklore.
In related news, Disney secured an overall deal earlier this week with Emmy winning writer producer Craig Gerber who previously steered the Disney Junior series Sofia the First and Elena of Avalor. Throughout his work with Disney, Gerber has focused on creating diverse worlds that include representation of Latin culture and blended families.. The Indian comedy veteran, Johnny Lever is getting 3D Animated
Yolo Media in association with writer Sukhwant Kalsi, is creating a 3D animated series based on the legendary Bollywood comedian. Titled Johny Lever, the series consists of 52 episodes of 11 minutes for season one.
In a first of its kind in India, a famous Bollywood actor/comedian will have its own animated series, similar to that of immensely popular and cult series, Mr. Bean, as the makers informed.
Yolo Media, earlier SGN Mediaworks, is a digital content studio dedicated to IP acquisition, development, production and distribution of animation and live action content in the Indian subcontinent. They acquire, create and distribute compelling visual content for entertainment endeavours. For, Johny Lever, they have an in house animation team based out of Pune and Delhi who are creating the animation, with Yolo Media and Kalsi having full creative control.
We’ve just started conceptualising and developing the series. I really liked the story and I hope people will enjoy this globally across all ages.”
Kalsi, who has penned the script as well as the songs, is a known name in the industry with a lot of comic titles to his credit. He shared about his journey and how his connection with Lever goes back a long time. Said he, “When I came to Mumbai from Kanpur, I got a show like Bhuvan Shekhar which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also wrote jokes on Lalu Ji, Sonia Ji, Vajpayee ji and even Manmohan Ji. My experience from being a cartoonist was transformed to the electronic media, when I did Johnny Ala re, from which my bond with Johnny Bhai became strong. Then I did Raju Srivastava Show, Comedy Nights with Kapil and more. I’ve written for Navjot Singh Siddhu since the Laughter Challenge Days. I wrote more of Stand Up Comedy. Despite my formal training in animation from Fourth Dimension Studio in Malaysia, there was not much work in the field back in the ‘90s. So I started writing comics for children. One of which, Junior James Bond, was a huge success in print and was made into an animated series, Chacha Bhatija, currently airing on the Disney Channel which again has become quite popular. After that, I wanted to do something big and different, so I started writing Johny Lever.”
The times of 2006-07, when there were hardly any Indian animated IPs, are long gone. Over the years the numbers have grown exponentially, especially in the past two years with the animated IP rush. Now, almost 70 per cent of animated series on TV right now are Indian IPs, and the digits will only grow in terms of techniques, storytelling and other aspects as it’s a very dynamic space and every stakeholder will definitely try to capitalise this space in the coming times. And Johny Lever is a prime example for that! . For more info visit us at http://www.hitechanimationhowrah.com/latest-update/the-indian-comedy-ve/8?utm_source=facebookpage
