Virabhadrasana / Warrior Pose

In Indian yogic tradition, the five poses of the warriors are called the Virabhadrasana series or the Vira poses. They are all standing poses that are usually sequenced together and are often included in vinyasa style classes and modified sun salutations.



In addition to calming your mind and relieving stress, this pose stretches your spine, shoulders, and hamstrings. It also stimulates the liver, kidneys, ovaries, and uterus—and can help improve digestion.


Om is not just a sound or vibration. It is not just a symbol. It is the entire cosmos, whatever we can see, touch, hear and feel. Moreover, it is all that is within our perception and all that is beyond our perception. It is the core of our very existence. If you think of Om only as a sound, a technique or a symbol of the Divine, you will miss it altogether. Om is the mysterious cosmic energy that is the substratum of all the things and all the beings of the entire universe. It is an eternal song of the Divine. It is continuously resounding in silence on the background of everything that exists.


If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.


Don’t move the way fear makes you move. Move the way love makes you move. Move the way joy makes you move.

Astavakrasana or Eight-Angle Pose is one of the advanced arm balance poses in yoga. The meaning of ‘asta’ in Sanskrit is eight and ‘vakra’ is curved or bent.    It is an excellent way to develop your stability and equilibrium, while strengthening the wrists and arms.

Benefits of Astavakrasana:

Reverses the flow of Apana.

Directs the energy to Manipura chakra.

Jamblu Devta festival.

The social structure of Malana in fact rests on villagers' unshaken faith in their powerful deity, Jamblu Devta. The entire administration of the village is controlled by him through a village council. This council has eleven members and they are believed as delegates of Jamnlu who govern the village in his name. His decision is ultimate in any dispute and any outsider authority is never required. Thus Malana has been named the Athens of Himalyas.
