With profound sorrow, we bid farewell to Sardar Fauja Singh, the world-renowned marathon runner who passed away at the age of 114 after a tragic accident. His extraordinary life and indomitable spirit have left an everlasting impact on hearts across the globe.

Born in 1911 in Punjab, India, S. Fauja Singh overcame immense personal and physical challenges throughout his life. But it was in his nineties that he truly captured the world's imagination—proving that age is truly just a number. He began running marathons in his 80s and went on to complete multiple international events, including the London, Toronto, and New York marathons.

Lovingly referred to as the “Turbaned Tornado”, he became the oldest marathon runner in the world, setting records and redefining human endurance and possibility. His dedication to fitness, simplicity in lifestyle, and deep spiritual grounding became a source of inspiration for millions—young and old alike.

S. Fauja Singh wasn’t just a runner; he was a symbol of perseverance, discipline, and timeless determination. His story crossed borders and generations, proving that dreams can be chased at any age. Even after retiring from competitive running at the age of 102, he continued to advocate for health, positivity, and philanthropy.

His passing is a great loss not just to the sporting world, but to humanity. The legacy he leaves behind is monumental—an unwavering reminder that passion and purpose know no age.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, and admirers around the world.

So many dreams shattered in a matter of moments. Families left in pain, lives changed forever. My deepest condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones. May the departed souls rest in peace, and may strength and healing reach those grieving in this darkest of times.

"The Terrorist Label is Often Political, Not Moral"

Who decides who a terrorist is? Often, it's the regime in power and its agencies that label individuals based on political convenience rather than just their actions.

The story of Ahmed al-Sharaa (also known as Abu Muhammad al-Julani) exemplifies this. Once associated with al-Qaeda and HTS, and declared a terrorist by the U.S. with a $10 million bounty on his head, al-Sharaa is now the interim President of after overthrowing Bashar al-Assad in 2024.

Now, the same America that once targeted him is seeking diplomatic ties, even discussing lifting sanctions. Former U.S. President Donald Trump personally met him and suggested Syria normalize ties with Israel.

Lesson: The term “terrorist” is often used as a political tool. When power shifts, so do definitions.

Take the Sikh community, for example. Due to their low political influence globally, Sikhs have been labeled "terrorists," "Khalistanis," or "anti-national" — even when imprisoned long after serving their sentences. It's a reflection not of crime, but of powerlessness.

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ -
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੰਕਵਾਦੀ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਮਿਆਰ 'ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ਅਕਸਰ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਵਕਤ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ – ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਦੇ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ, ਸਿਆਸੀ ਮਕਸਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ।

ਅਹਿਮਦ ਅਲ-ਸ਼ਰਾ (ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਬੂ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਅਲ-ਜੁਲਾਨੀ ਸੀ) ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਅਲ-ਕਾਇਦਾ ਅਤੇ HTS ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ "ਅਤੰਕਵਾਦੀ" ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ $10 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਸ਼ਰ ਅਲ-ਅਸਦ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਤਖਤਾਪਲਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੀਰੀਆ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਰਿਮ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।

ਹੁਣ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਸੁਧਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਿੱਖਿਆ:
"ਅਤੰਕਵਾਦੀ" ਦਾ ਟੈਗ ਅਕਸਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਜ ਬਦਲਦੇ ਨੇ, ਵੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਲੇਬਲ ਵੀ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ।

ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਲਵੋ – ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਸੱਤਾ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਕਾਰਨ, ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ "ਅਤੰਕਵਾਦੀ", "ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨੀ" ਜਾਂ "ਰਾਜਦ੍ਰੋਹੀ" ਲੱਭੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਜ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹੋਣ।
