Waterford Childcare Centre is a not-for-profit childcare facility based in the Northern Extension of the Waterford Industrial Estate. We cater for kids of all ages - from new arrivals up to school age children.
The values and standards demonstrated at our centre include an understanding and an acceptance that children, parents, trainees, students, project participants and staff have different needs and expectations. Within the diverse community of the centre, these needs are dealt with in a positive, constructive and caring manner. We build on the uniqueness of the centre knowing that we have encouraged others to emulate our good work. We are pleased to be part of the growth and provision of quality childcare and its associated practises.
Mission: Waterford Childcare Centre provides quality childcare, where each child's individual needs are met in a pro-active, progressive and friendly manner.

This may help families with NCS applications.
For anyone starting back with parents who need to register with NCS, some information from our queries to DCYA.
"DEASP have suspended their SAFE registration process, due to social distancing restrictions for their customers looking to obtain a PSC Card.
Regarding the balance of people who have PSC cards but who are not MyGovID verified, the following steps are open to them;
· If they already have a phone number that has been verified with DEASP when they received their PSC card, or made a claim, they can simply move from MyGovID basic to MyGovID verified online, on their MyGovID portal
The following three options are now presented on a page on the MyGovID portal to users looking to become MyGovID verified. They choose one by selecting a radio button.
· Previously, instead of calling into a DEASP office to have their phone verified, they could opt to have a PIN posted out to them instead to enable them to become MyGovID verified. This option remains in place.
· DEASP have set up a helpdesk to talk the user through becoming MyGovID verified. Details of the phone number are on the page of the MyGovID portal mentioned above.
· MyGovID is now linked to the RSA database which holds a large number of verified mobile phone numbers. If the user’s mobile number is on this database they can become MyGovID in a couple of clicks. Since this option became available about half of users were able to become MyGovID verified this way.
In summary, these options mitigate the risk to applications for NCS as any PSC card holder will be able to become MyGovID verified through the methods outlined above.
The offline application process is also available to those who either do not want the online process or those who don’t have a PSC card."
Oh what fun with foam!
Any parent or guardian who is availing of the NCS funding programme must have a valid CHICK to ensure that we receive funding towards the cost of their fees. When you are awarded a CHICK this CHICK has an expiry date specific to each child availing of NCS and before this time lapses parents/guardians must apply for their next CHICK. Please log on to www.ncs.gov.ie for more details.

We have limited access to our centre for parents/guardians. If a parent or guardian wishes to discuss anything with us an appointment can be made at a time convenient to all concerned. Please call or email to arrange a meeting. Also, some parents may need to call to the office hatch so please check when you arrive at our intercom if this can be arranged.
If anyone has any queries regarding settling in or moving playrooms just give us a call.
After such a windy, wet day here's a look back over some recent activities. Lots of action indoors and outdoors with lots of busy, engaging and active children! Ye're super!
Our new families joining us next week will be settling in with us at specified times through out the week. Initially our new parents/guardians will come in to their child's playroom as part of our settling in time for a limited time and as the week progresses children will be collected from and dropped to the front door by staff. We shared the video below back in June and it might be helpful for our new children/children returning to us from 24.08.20 to watch the video. Parents, don't forget your mask if you are coming inside!
Let’s Get Ready
We are looking forward to seeing everyone for the beginning of our new ECCE programme starting on 24.08.20. We can't wait to meet all of our old friends returning to us and our new ones too!

I'm sure your week was as busy as ours but was it as much fun?
Looking for some ideas for a rainy day... make sock puppets, colour, create a petal and leaf collage and build a den!
While on the www.ncs.gov.ie website please click on the menu and click on 'other childcare schemes' for details of ECCE and how, if eligible, parents/carers can use the NCS to ‘wrap-around’ the free preschool programme hours, providing financial support towards the cost of childcare for the hours spent outside of the preschool times and calendar. Parents/carers will also find details of AIM, the Access & Inclusion Model, which assists children who require some extra support to fully participate in the preschool programme of activities.
For parents/carers who wish to check their eligibility for NCS, the National Childcare Scheme, please log on to www.ncs.gov.ie for details.
