We pay very little attention to dandelions. In fact most people complain about them but they make such a great learning resource. The children gathered a handful of them from the school field and left plenty for the bees and insects of course. What surprised them most was the fact that they close when the sun goes down and open up when it’s daylight again. We learned about the life cycle of the dandelion and the important role they play in nature. We also discovered a wonderful song called ‘I am a dandelion’ which the children absolutely love. here’s the link for anyone who’d like to use it.
