The edtech revolution is shifting into overdrive as Claude arrives in Ireland and Google’s Gemini attempts to steal the spotlight from ChatGPT. The EU AI Act was passed, aiming to promote trustworthy AI in education by setting clear guardrails around privacy, bias, oversight, transparency, and safety of systems that could impact students' learning outcomes or opportunities.

​Bridging the digital divide still remains a priority, with €50M being made available by the Department of Education to digitally empower all students. Little wonder that major tech giants are striving to control the lucrative edtech market, but it should be remembered that there are many home-grown EdTech solutions that are worth serious consideration for this expenditure.

Ukrainian Support Initiatives – Ukrainian Support Initiatives 01/06/2022

The New Ukrainian School Hub (http://nushub.org/) has launched 🇺🇦: a centralized gateway for refugees to access supplemental solutions, curriculum-based supporting resources, tools, and access to Ukrainian online learning platforms as well as relevant country specific education access information. Behind this initiative are The European Edtech Alliance e.V. (https://www.edtecheurope.org) (EEA) and “Learning Together” Project.

Together, we are helping school administrators, educators, learners and those supporting learners such as their families, host families or communities. This initiative builds on both the existing collection of over 200 supportive EdTech offerings from over 20 member states collated by the and and educational materials of the Together Project which provides resources for the hub as well as accompanying its development. The project focuses on teacher training, promotion of education and development of the educational environment. It is funded by the of Foreign Affairs of Finland and the Commission, and supported by the of Helsinki, Consulting Group Ltd. The key institution supported by the Project is the of Education and Science of Ukraine. Project is cooperating with the of Digital Transformation of Ukraine (MDT) and .

💻Children are accessing the internet from an increasingly younger age - designed for teachers of 1st and 2nd class, this free evening webinar will explore how best to introduce younger pupils to the first steps of accessing and using the internet in a safe and responsible manner.
➡ It will look at age appropriate internet safety advice for young children including using the internet safely, communicating online, playing and learning online, getting help and support.
➡ Teachers will be introduced to the new HTML Heroes 1st and 2nd Class edition as a key online safety resource to use when introducing internet safety for this age group.
