The countdown is on ....2 weeks to go and there is lots of hard work and practicing going on around the county. Anne Devlin CCÉ and Wicklow CCÉ have been putting the timetable and Fleadh programme together for the last few weeks and we are looking forward to seeing you all in Aughrim on the 11th May. 🎶 🎻

Hello All, hope you had a wonderful summer 🌞.
Classes resume for enrolled students starting with beginners on Friday 7th of September at 7.30pm in the Old School, Aughrim, with everyone else starting back on Friday 14th.
Best of luck to all competitors taking part in the Wicklow Fleadh (1 week to go!!!).
Last practice before the fleadh will be next Friday (18th of May)
End of the Year Presentations and Music Session on Friday 25th at 7:30pm. Any fleadh medals won (🤞) will be given out on the night and the Student of the Year Award will be presented.
Any Buns and Cakes welcome, with raffle on the night.

There is ample free parking on the grounds and light refreshments will be available in the canteen. Please check the time and venue of your competition. Please like and share timetable. We are really looking forward to the Wicklow County Fleadh 2017 which will take place in Tinahely National School on Saturday 22nd April starting a 10am. Competitions will take place throughout the day with musicians, singers and dancers from all over Co. Wicklow competing for a place in the Leinster Fleadh to be held in Ballymahon, Co. Longford in July.

[09/11/16] Anne Devlin CCE will be celebrating Culture Night 2016 this Friday 16 September with a session in the Old School starting @ 7.30pm. All students will be performing. Family & friends are welcome to attend this free night. Lessons for beginners only @ 7.15pm as normal.

LEINSTER FLEADH UPDATE
Leinster Fleadh workshops take place on Wednesday 6 July next from 11am to 3pm. Whistle for beginners, Flute, Fiddle, Accordion and Concertina for the more advanced people who want to brush up on some playing before the Fleadh. The tutors are experienced and will give practical advice for the competitors. Cost is €10 for the day.
There are walks for parents who are staying around the city.

Anyone returning to class in September, please make sure you have your forms and deposit in before 27th May as this is the closing date. It is also our final class for this year and we will be doing our end of year presentations.

Congratulations to all our students who took part in County Fleadh in Blessington. You worked hard, performed well and did us proud - there's a bucket of medals to be given out!!!!!!

FROM DUBLIN VIA M50/N81: On arrival in Blessington turn RIGHT at the ALDI store and join the Inner Relief Road. At the next roundabout turn LEFT. At the next large roundabout turn LEFT and follow this road behind Dunne’s Stores. The road will lead to the multi-storey car park on the right plus some surface level spaces adjacent to the recycle bins. The School/Theatre complex is on the straight road to the left of the car park. There is a drop-off facility for attendees who need to leave large instruments in the venue (via the Scene dock door to the left of the main door). There will be no general parking in the school/theatre car park.
FROM HOLLYWOOD/ WEST WICKLOW: On arrival in Blessington pass straight through the large roundabout, continue on about 500 metres, then turn LEFT at the sign for R410 Naas/Punchestown near the Main Street. Follow this road for about 1km to the “Busy Bees” roundabout and turn RIGHT to join the Inner Relief Road. Follow this road to the next large roundabout and then turn RIGHT and follow this road behind Dunne’s Stores. The road will lead to the multi-storey car park on the right plus some surface level spaces adjacent to the recycle bins. The School/Theatre complex is on the straight road to the left of the car park.
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Both Dublin Bus route 65 and Bus Eireann route 132 will stop near the town square. From here it is a five minute walk to the venue via the Shopping Centre.
Minor revision to the Fleadh Timetable - U15 Grupaí Cheoil has been moved from 4pm to 12:30pm in the Hall. Managers of all participating groups have been informed, but just in case you know any group members, please let them know. Here's the revised timetable as it will appear in the programme and there are no other changes.

Don't forget music at the Pavilion tomorrow
ST PATRICK'S DAY PARADE 2016 starts at approximately 11.15 a.m. tomorrow morning and will proceed from the Tinakilly Bridge, down Main Street and will finish at the Pavillion on Rednagh Road. Traditional Irish music (Anne Devlin CCE) and a demonstration of Irish Dancing (Breda O'Connor Shool of Dancing) will take place at the Pavillion after the parade. This is always an enjoyable and colourful Community event, so don something green and come along to join in the fun!! Don't forget your camera!!
