The paper and pencil can come later…for now we’ll be working on other activities like this to practice handwriting! Sandpaper letter and sand tracing….I love this combo for working on correct path of movement & muscle memory when writing letters! ✨Trace the letter yourself, showing them where to start and how to correctly form the letter ✨They trace the letter, watch to make sure they are starting at the right spot ✨Then they draw it in the sand! Making a small dot in the sand to show them where to start the letter is really helpful And of course his favorite part was shaking the box so the letter disappeared! If you’re working on writing letters at home, give this a try! Sharing another super easy, super LOW PREP small group idea! 🎨 Grab some washable paint and dump it in a quart-sized bag. Make one for each student in your group. 🎨 Tape the top! 🎨 Ask students questions about skills you have explicitly taught. For example, “How do you spell ‘sh’ or how do you spell….” 🎨 I like to give them a cotton swab instead of just using their fingers. Excellent fine motor practice! 🎨 Sit back and watch engagement go through the roof when you play with paint with no mess!
