Hello, everyone!! If you are new to this page, I have PCSed from Guam (summer 2020). However, I did secure an awesome replacement dance instructor for Andersen Youth Programs instructional classes prior to moving. The Andersen Teen Center manages all the instructional classes and can provide you with the latest information regarding dance classes on base. Their phone number is 671-366-7706.

A quick note about emailing videos! If your phone records in a higher resolution, the file will probably be too large to send via email. But don't worry - you can compress your files pretty easily. There are many apps that can do it - but I used Video Panda which is completely free. You just select your video, select the file size (I chose email size which is under 25 mb). Then the app "squishes" it for you and you can select share to email it. Hope this helps!

Just a reminder the Magic in Motion backdrop is up for pictures at 1042 Rota from 10-noon! :)

We are taking the backdrop down now since it is starting to get dark. There will be another chance for puctures this Saturday (June 13) from 10 am to noon if you weren't able to come today. :)

Update again: we have been trying to get the backdrop up for almost 30 minutes but it is very windy! We are still trying, but have moved it around to the front of the house where there is a little more protection. Hopefully it will hold up for some pictures!

Update: the backdrop will be up from approximately 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm today. This is for optional outdoor individual pictures, one family at a time. Located behind the bus stop on the corner of Ulithi & Rota. Come anytime during the window. :)

If the weather cooperates, I will try to put the backdrop up this evening from around 4-6 pm for pictures. It may be 4:15 or so until I am able to get it set up as I am not home yet. I will post here if it is too windy to set up!

Good afternoon, dance and tumbling families! Please check your email as a very important update was sent out with lots of details! Here are a few key points:

- Unfortunately, it doesn't look like CYP will be opening anytime soon. While I am soooo disappointed not to get to see everyone in person, I have been working on some awesome plans to still do a recital and even pictures!

- We will be having a VIDEO recital! You can record your section on your own time and from any location! You do not have to pay anything to be part of the video recital, but there is a fee if you want to purchase a DVD.

- There are also going to be opportunities to take your own dance pictures in costume (outside, following base social distance policies), if you want to.

- Some dances have a few things that needed to be changed since they aren't going to be in-person - every detail should be covered in the modifications document, which is broken down by dance.

- I will only have access to a computer through June 15th. Shortly after I will be in a hotel, then traveling, then in a hotel again so it may be difficult to get a hold of me at that point. Please try to ask any questions prior to that date.

There are three documents attached to the email including FAQs which hopefully will cover all the questions you may have! Please let me know if you didn't receive it. Thank you!

Emails were sent out with all the final cuts of music so you can practice at home without the videos (and also so you don't have to hear me talking in the background, lol). If you didn't get the emails, message me your email address and what song(s) you need and I will send them to you separately - I know some email servers don't accept larger files. Thank you!

I have received a few inquiries and wanted to give a quick update! The government of Guam is allowing dance studios to reopen on Friday. However, our program falls under the base policies (currently for Andersen this is still closure of all of Youth Programs). Unfortunately this means there is still no reopening date announced for our instructional classes. I apologize if you heard that on the news and got your hopes up - I know everyone is missing dance. Please stay safe & continue practicing those recital dances at home! Thank you!
