In a heartbreaking incident, Yesterday 21st June 2025 Hope Academic Centre in Jamwelly A nursery and primary school children has suffered a major setback. Thieves stole the school’s solar battery, which had been donated years ago by internationally acclaimed artist and philanthropist Akon. This solar system wasn’t just a power source; it was a lifeline.

Without it, administrative operations have come to a standstill, and the school relies on the solar-powered lights for safety during nighttime now faces total darkness. It's a blow to a community striving for quality education, dignity, and safety.

We call on the public, community leaders, local authorities, and kind-hearted supporters near and far: please help us with any information concerning the battery. Thank you.

Next month as we celebrate this milestone, I invite you to take a moment and reflect on something simple yet powerful—the school garden.

When we first planted seeds in the soil, they were small, fragile, and full of possibility. We watered them, cared for them, and waited patiently, knowing that growth takes time. Just like those plants, we started our journey here with dreams, uncertainties, and hope. And look at us now—we have grown, not just in knowledge, but in resilience, kindness, and strength.

The garden has taught us that true success doesn’t happen overnight. It happens when we nurture our goals, stay rooted in determination, and embrace challenges like storms that make us stronger. Some plants may struggle, some may grow at different paces—but in the end, each one contributes to the beauty of the harvest.
