GTTI National Alumni Association, established and incorporated in the 2017, is an association that is comprised of GTTI graduates. GTTINAA was primarily founded on the basis of: unifying GTTI graduates (ex-students) under one umbrella thus to help them in the development of their career paths, initiating and attaining projects, services and events that would better the lives of GTTI graduates, as well as to serve the GTTI Students, our communities and country at large, specifically in respect of job creation and employment opportunities; career guidance and mentorship; scholarship trusts for both the alumni and GTTI students; assisting GTTI as an institute in fulfilment of its academic mission; fostering fellowship among the alumni through socio-civic activities, promote the growth, progress and the general welfare of GTTI; entrepreneurial development, industrial, professional, skilled and unskilled youth empowerment projects, multimedia and online opportunities among other things as enshrined under Chapter III of the GTTINNA Constitution.

GTTI National Alumni Association (GTTINAA) was officially & successfully launched on the 7th July, 2021 at the GTTI Campus under the theme: "The Significance of T.V.E.T in The Gambia".

The Association partnered with the Ministry of Higher Science Research and Technology and International Trade Centre to commemorated this auspicious event.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NATIONAL TVET ALUMNI NETWORK

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology - MoHERST in its drive to establish Gambia's first ever TVET alumni network, has today, 1st June 2021 at its premises at Bijilo, occasioned and presided over an election that was contested for by delegates from the GTTI National Alumni Association and the Insight Training Center Alumni Association that saw the establishment of the National TVET Alumni Network and its first Board of Executives. Mustapha Barrow has a creative personality and a fantastic analytical ability to succeed. As a professional Auditor, he provides an independent guarantee that any organisation’s risk management, governance and control processes will operate effectively.

He attended SOS High School where he sealed his senior secondary school education.

He then proceeded to GTTI from 2017 – 2019 were he obtained a Diploma, Higher Diploma & Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, may we add that he bagged these accolades with Distinction.

Impressively, in 2020 he was also certified for completing the YAPCEC 17 - United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, 7-day Program and he was also accoladed a certificate by Spina College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati for participating
in an online quiz on Covid-19.

Mustaphaha worked as a Sales and Marketing Manager at BM Global and presently works as the Internal Auditor of Kings Baker. He was the Auditor General of the 34th Executive Council of the GTTI Students’ Union and the IPRO of Aspiration Youth Foundation.

Be Acquainted With Mr. Sheriffo Jobarteh (Executive Legal Adviser).

Sheriffo Jobarteh is an energetic and charismatic Law expert adept at forging relationships and identifying and establishing organizational positioning. He is resourceful, meticulous, proactive and possesses excellence in communication, critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities.

He sealed his senior secondary school education at Nusrat Senior Secondary School in 2015 and then proceeded to Suna Institute of Science and Technology in 2016 were he obtained a Certificate and Diploma in ICT.

He graduated from GTTI bagging a National Diploma in Law in 2019 with Distinction and impressively exited the Institution being accoladed certificates of merit in 8 law courses he studied ond was awarded the overall most outstanding Law student of the class of 2019 and he is presently a 3rd year LLB Law Student at Legacy University The Gambia.

He was the Deputy Head Boy of Kaiaf Upper Basic School and a participant of the Peer Health Summer Camp in 2011 at Tahir Ahmadiya SSS, he was a certified member of the Voice of the Young Club under Child Protection Alliance as well as a member of the Youth Wing of SUNU REEW organization and a certified pioneer of the GTTI Arts Association.

Sheriffo was the Chairman of GTTI Students’ Union Commission of Inquiry into a Financial dealing, Chief Adjudicator of the Pre- Election Tribunal of the SU and representative of the SU to the Constitutional Review Committee of GTTINAA and an Executive Member of Legacy University Students Representative Council and was the Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Drafting Committee of Legacy University Students’ Representative Council.

He was the Secretary General of the SUNA Alumni Association and doubled as the Registrar General of the GTTI Law Students’ Association in 2016/17 and the Legal Adviser to the 34th Executive Council of GTTI Students’ Union.

Sheriffo is highly qualified to oversee the legal aspects of the Association and to safeguard and guarantee it’s reputation by giving legal advices to the Board on about all relevant issues thus, we are delighted to have his caliber on board.

On Sunday 7th February, 2021, the Board of Executives of GTTINAA successfully held its 1st Phy. Executive Board Meeting in the year 2021.

Be Acquainted With Mdm. Soffie Kah (Deputy Financial Secretary).

Soffie Kah is a passionate young lady who has bested her prowess in the field of professional accountancy and Financial control.

She graduated from Gambia Senior Secondary School in 2015 where she sat for her WASSCE.

She is a Financial Accounting Graduate of the school of Business Studies of The Gambia Technical Training Institute.

Soffie's working experience spans volunteering as an Accountant at the A&A (Voluntary Charity Organization) from the 2017 to 2019.

We are extremely delighted to have her caliber on board.

The Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Technology on Monday 1st February, 2021 held a meeting at the Ministry's Conference Room with the Board of Executives of GTTI National Alumni Association and the Executive Board of Insight Training Centre Alumni Association.

An 8 Men Delegate representing GTTINAA's Executives Board participated in the meeting, chaired and organized by Anthony G. Mendy, Director/THE, MOHERST and Amie Njie SHE, MOHERST also attended by the President of Insight Training Alumni Association.

The meeting was centred on the development of both Institution's Alumni Associations, launching of the Associations, availability of international funding for projects and the establishment of a National Alumni Network country wide.

The Board thanks the Ministry for this superb initiative and looks forward to working with the MOHERST to make this project a reality.

KNOW YOUR EXECUTIVES: Be Acquainted With Mr. Momodou Bah (Financial Secretary)

Momodou Bah is a founding Executive Member who has been an integral part of the Association plus his financial and accounting skills are top notch giving the Board so much depth.

He graduated from SOS Herman Gmeinerr Technical School in 2015 where he sat for his WASSCE. He is a Financial Accounting Graduate of the School of Business Studies at the Gambia Technical Training Institute from 2015-2018.

He then proceeded to Grace Institute of Professional Accounting in 2020 where he obtained a Diploma in Foundation of Accountancy (ACCA).

His working experience spans as an Intern at the Finance Department of The Gambia National Insurance Company from September 2018 - 1st February 2019 and after the completion of his Internship he was retained as an Accounts Clerk till date.

Momodou was the Deputy Head Boy of Latrikunda Upper Basic School in 2011-2012 and was also the Deputy Head Boy and the Assistant Secretary of the Commerce Club of SOS High School from 2014 - 2015.

He served as the Finance Minister of the 33rd Executive of GTTI Students' Union Council and was the Interim Financial Secretary of GTTI National Alumni Association who has undergone an intense financial training facitated by the Gambia Revenue Authority.

Momodou was certified for his participation in the 12th Edition of the Peace Ambassadors of The Gambia Seminar held on Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing Terrorism (AML/CFT) which took place in Dakar, Senegal. We extremely delighted to have his caliber on board.

Be Acquainted With Mdm. Mam Pitty Gillen (Deputy Public Relations Officer)

Mam Pitty Gillen is an intelligent, creative and sociable individual making her highly dependable.

She graduated from Glory Baptist Senior Secondary School where she sat for her final grade for WASSCE Exams and Graduated in 2014 as a Commerce Student, she was also certified the Best Student In Arts and Crafts.

She then pursued a Diploma course at Trust Communication Institute where she obtained a Certificate under Diploma in Human Resources Management and Higher Diploma under HRM in 2016 and she graduated from The Gambia Technical Training Institute(GTTI) obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Development and a Graduate Diploma under HRD in the Year 2020.

Mam Pitty's professional working experience spans as a Service Centre Executive in 2019 upto date at Bloom Bank Africa Gambia Ltd.

She volunteered at the Peer Health, The model United Nations Club at Glory Baptist (MUNC) and The Young People In The Media (YPM) and she is currently the Female Representative of The Gambia Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Bodybuilding Federation(GWPBF). From 2018 – date and doubled as the Class Representative of Graduate Diploma at GTTI.

Amfaal Conteh is highly innovative and naturally dependable.

He graduated from Gambia Muslim Senior Secondary School where he served as the Deputy Head Boy.

In 2010, he enrolled at The Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI), where he obtained an Advance Diploma in Management. In 2012 he enrolled at Quantumnet Institute of Technology and studied for an Advance Diploma in Information Communication Technology.

He then proceeded to the University of the Gambia as a student in 2013 where he studied for a Bsc. In Management. He is Currently studying for a Master’s degree in International Public Administration at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) Beijing-Online due the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Amfaal’s working experience spans a Teacher at Bakoteh Upper Basic School, he also interned at ChildFund as a personal assistant to the Federation Manager. He was appointed by the University as an Administrative Assistant and then moved through the ranks to the position of Senior Relations Officer.

While at GTTI he served as the Public Relation Officer for the Students’ Union and as the Secretary General of GTTI Association of Business Executive (ABE) network. In the University of The Gambia he served as the Assistant Secretary General in the Student Union. We are delighted to have him on board.

KNOW YOUR EXECUTIVES: Be Acquainted With Mdm. Fatoumatta Sanyang (Deputy Program Director)

Fatoumatta Sanyang has a bright and exciting innovative personality which makes her highly dependable.

She attended Kotu Senior Secondary School from 2010 to 2017 and she currently holds a Certificate in Information and Communication Technology from Glo Touch Foundation in 2017 as well as a Certificate and an Advanced Certificate in CCTV Installation from Sterling Consortium in the year 2017 to 2019.

Fatoumatta impressively is also a Certificate and Diploma holder in Software Application from The Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) from the year 2017 to 2020.

Her professional working experience spans a Volunteer in the Covid19 data entry 2020.

Fatoumatta was the Secretary General of the IT Network Executives of GTTI. She has an innovative eye for creating more talents and connecting it to opportunities. We are glad to have her on board.

Mustapha Manneh is a passionate community servant with the ability to inspire and motivate individuals in identifying their potential to continue and share the passion to serve others. We are extremely excited and delighted to have him onbaord.

He holds a Diploma in Community Development from GTTI in 2016 and an International Relations Fall Semester Certificate from The European University of Lefke Cyprus, he also obtained an Advanced Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy from Management Development Institute (MDI) in 2020.

Mustapha is the Former Regional Youth Program Officer in LRR for National Youth Council and YEP Regional Focal Point.

He was the Project Field Coordinator for The Standing4Youths Project Innovators Spaces Country Correspondent DNT TV in 2018, he was invited by Greenpeace International as a Guest speaker during their AGM in Dakar.

On the 10th December 2020, he was awarded a Human Rights Hero Award by Gambians leading Human Rights NGO and was also nominated by the Federation of International Gender and Human Rights as a nominee for the Peace Prize Children’s Aid and Help 2020 Year Award and to crown it all he is currently a Nominee for the African Risings Activist of The Year 2020.
