Big thanks to hand in hand foundation through kerstin for sponsoring the solar powered water system for the school and garden plus putting light in and out of the classrooms of sunshine nursery school. We are greatful now that the classrooms can be used at night. Teachers will have to be able to charge their telephones and use appliances if necessary for their lessons.

Over the past few years together YOU have help build a school in the village of Jamwelly Jallow K***a in Gambia Africa. Your help has provided a safe place for the children to learn & for their parents to have some piece of mind their own children are getting educated for their futures.

We have been offered help in send a shipping container full of extra equipment to the school. This container with the help of NPAC (Nottinghamshire Police Aid Convoys) will be sent over the summer and take around 2 months to arrive.

EVERY penny raised will go directly to the Sunshine School & Nursery. Items will be sent from UK by shipping container and any remaining money will go towards paying for the teachers, school meals and uniforms/clothing.

We know times are hard so we only ask if you can donate £1
If you can donate more please do if you can afford it?
If you have any questions please get in touch and we will get back.

All gone quite on the school front. I think not. Thanks to some more donations the second building is now complete. This now means more teaching can be provided to the children. They also have been given some more equipment for their day to day learning and well being. LOVE!

19/08/2017

Phase 2!

The second building has started work and will be completed soon. This will allow more than one class to take place at once. Providing even more time for the children's education. Good times :)

So some great news. A private donation of £500 has been made so we can now send half a containers worth of equipment and clothing for the children at the school in

The rest of the money will come from the last Foundations night. This is so cool as this equipment will last for ages. We have already had some donations of clothing from Matt Whaley and more is to come.

Again thanks to all who have supported so far. BIG UP!

We would like to thank Matt Whaley for a generous donation of over 100 t-shirts and baby grows. These will be sent on our container in the next few months. Thanks very much

Hi I would like to updated everyone on what has been done so far. We have sent over £200 for some wages and spent £145 on sending some chairs for the children. The remaining £855 will be transferred directly to the school in the next few weeks. I will keep you posted.

I also have some great news. We have been given space on a shipping container to send more items to the school. This has been provided by NPAC and they will not only help with the logistics but fill the container for us. This means there will be more than just the shoes being sent. In fact it will be filled with school furniture, clothes and more… Again I will keep you posted here. The next foundations will help towards the sending cost of this container.

Thanks again and any question please ask.

I would like to thank Sandra and National Police Aid Convoys for their donation of 6 full to the brim bags of shoes for the children at the school. They will also be helping us send them over. All the shoes are new, of various sizes, boys and girls, and perfect for the weather conditions. Much thanks in advance for the help.

We will be using some of the Foundations money to send these over.

12/03/2017

Hi all. So we have just about worked out where the money is going. The money will be divided between paying staff and helping sponsor some children. £700 will go towards paying 2 teachers, 1 cleaner, 1 cook & night guard. Included in this will also be 1 teachers training course for 1 year. £200 (Approx) will be spent on sending some items of furniture donated by a school in Warrington along with some sandals donated here in Nottingham . The remainder will go towards sponsoring at least 3 children for the year.

We will be sending the money over in the next two weeks once we have set up our account to do so. We need to set up an account now as it's no longer personal donations but money from you. We have a charity here in the UK called Positive Change Works who will be able to do this legally so all is above board with the UK government. We will not be taking any money for admin here so nothing will get lost. I hope this is OK with you all and any questions please ask.

Once again massive respects to you all and we are already trying to arrange the next event.

Peace

Some great news the school has now been given charitable status in Gambia. This means we are one step away from the school becoming 100% official in with the government. This we hope to happen within the next to weeks.

Man not far off now from everything falling in to place. Respect :)

Someone who really wanted to come the next event and could make it has donated £50 towards the school. He said he didn't want a mention so I will respect that. But you know who you are and we all thank you. The money was sent today and will buy around 7 or more uniforms. Thanks again and big up!

I would like to thank Mary Cox-Wells who has donated £359.50 from a fund raiser at Julien's Hair Salon. The money was raised selling jewellery.

All proceeds went towards a swing, a clock, 40 coat hooks, 15 chairs, a bell, a ball, bucket and exercise books for the children.

Also thanks the ladies at the local church for making each child in the class a knitted finger puppet.

Thank you all :)

We are holding an event in Nottingham on February 25th to help raise money for the school to be able to run and maintain itself. Over the next year.

The school building is completed and thanks to our own (Foundations) and other donations the children are now using the facility.

The school is not officially registered yet but the registration application has been submitted. I personally don’t know how long this will take but I will keep you informed.

More progress. Starting to look really nice :)

Photos from Education for All Education for Africa's post 02/08/2016

So after a few years of work and lots of help from many people the school building is now completed. This has been a journey and a half which I would recommend to anyone to have a go themselves. I can’t thank enough the support you all have given and help towards this project.

There is still some work to do. Furniture and fittings to be still required but I was told that 18 desks have been shipped out by a lady from Warrington this week. Specsavers are donating pens, books and other equipment. I will let people know in the near future how they can donate towards this also.

The school will require funds to run so later this year we are holding a fund raising event in Nottingham (RAVE hehehe) to put money towards this. All the DJs have donated parts of their fee towards this cause, so watch out for this one. Gona be a big JAM!!!

So its not over yet but a school, water well, fields for crops, fencing and toilets have been provided for the village of Jamwelly Jallow K***a in The Gambia.

The children now have a place to start their education and have a safe place to grow their minds. Pushing each other and building a better future from themselves.

And as I say its not over yet more to be done and I feel I will be with your help doing this again sometime.

Thanks again Joe Nebula2
