EXHIBITION

The Gambia College School of Education on Thursday 31 March 2022 conducted an exhibition for its students.
The students of Early Childhood Education at the Gambia College, as part of their creativity requirements in terms of producing artistic educational resources, had for the past few weeks been engaged on creating many different things from mostly waste materials such as old news papers, cartons, metals, glue etc.
This exercise, facilitated by the Arts Department, equips the students with the prerequisite skills as ECD teachers to be able to make useful educational resources from mainly waste products.
The exhibition was very well attended with a lot of creations to display.

Q-NDOGU ARRIVES IN THE GAMBIA COLLEGE

On Tuesday 29 March 2022, Q-Group presented some items including bags of rice, sugar and cartons of dates to The Gambia College. This is part of their Q-Ndogu program, which takes the group around the country to share Ramadan gift to the people.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Principal of The Gambia College, Mr. Yusupha Jobe, the Deputy Registrar thank Q-Group for their magnificent gesture. He thank them for chosing to come to the Gambia College considering the fact that the students residing within the college suffers a lot during Ramadan to get food from outside.
He assured Q-Group that the items will be all given to the students as he prays for success and prosperity for the Q-Group.

DRAFT POLICY REVIEW

The Gambia College now at the beginning of the final stage of policy building. Eight policies have been drafted and the review of the policies began today Wednesday 23 February 2022. The review involve some external panelists for criticisms and expertise advice. After this stage, a final validation shall be organised.

THE GAMBIA COLLEGE ORIENTS NEW STUDENTS AT BASSE CAMPUS

The new students of The Gambia College School of Education for Basse Campus were on Monday 10 January oriented at the Basse Campus.
The orientation was attended by the Registrar, Head of School of Education and other admin staff from Brikama Campus.
On behalf of the Coordinator of the campus Mr. Lamin Jarra welcomed the new students to Basse Campus and assured them of quality services during their period of study. He encouraged them to be hardworking as they will be going out to serve and that service too should be of good quality.
The Registrar Mr. Demba Yarbo also assured the students that they will not regret their decision to choose Gambia College for their professional training particularly wanting to do it in the Basse campus. He also reminded them that discipline is part of the core values of the Gambia College which shall never be compromised. The Head of School of Education, in his statement also emphasized on discipline because even the certification, he said will determine that a student has been found worthy both in Character and in Learning. Therefore, their hardworking must be polished with discipline in all aspects. He also urged them to coexist peacefully in the campus as they came from diverse backgrounds and United by one purpose, "to learn and go out to serve".
Other speakers including the admission Officer, Quality assurance director, Finance Controller and ICT Officer all spoke on their various areas.
Student leaders also spoke to welcome the new students as well as motivate them to feel at home while in the campus.

CAPACITY BUILDING
The Gambia College starts a month long capacity building for its Library staff on Monday 4 October 2021.
Having run a standard library effectively since inception of the college, the institution which believe in constant training, realized the need to strengthen the capacity of its library staff.
The Gambia National Library is providing the expert resource persons for this important training.
It is expected that, by the end of this training, the standard in the management of the Gambia College libraries will improve significantly.

The students are successfully oriented. They have been told everything they need to know about The Gambia College. The Principal encouraged them to feel at home and work hard.
For those who have the entry requirements but without credit in English Language are reminded by the Admissions Officer that their admission is based on the condition that they must reseat English to have credit.
They are encouraged to work hard and prevent fail in any of their courses because underperformance could lead to deregistration.
