TOPIC: THE NATURE OF MATHEMATICS LEARNING

Numerous theories have emerged and these have been grouped under two (2) main categories.
(A) BEHAVIOURIST THEORY : These theory have portrayed the learner as PASSIVE recipient in the learning process,as if his / her mind were a blank slate that could be written on .Here the teacher is seen as prime expositor of knowledge .
Individuals such as Edward L. Thorndike (1898) B.F. Skinner (1938) and Robert Gagne (1935) have contributed enormously to this perspective.

lets meet same time next week for the COGNITIVE THEORY. Thank you.
