It's time to prioritize Global and International Competitions over Cricket

Some competitions one participate in:

Competitions for School and College Students: AI Olympiad, IOI, Chemistry, Physics, and Math Olympiads

University Students: National and International Hackathons, Global Tech Program, Tech Speaking at International Conferences, Paper publications

16/06/2024

There is a way to travel to different parts of the world for free, along with speaking and other opportunities. How?

First of all, join Global Student Programs and skill up at the same time. Build a solid LinkedIn profile, take sessions, create content, and much more!

Now you will have a good network, profile, and experience in tech.

Start applying for CFPs (Call for Proposals) for international events. Your talks will be selected, and most probably they will provide you with a with a hotel,, plane, and event ticket fee!!

I haven't seen Bangladeshi students doing so, but we have a few professionals who do so. But if you follow Indians on LinkedIn, you will see how they travel to different places and give their talks.

Why are CSE/CS students fearing AI and AI tools?

Where other people will use AI tools, you can certainly build those tools.

Surely you need to worry if you skill up on things that’s not in CSE or CS.

Also, CSE/CS has so many awesome research and modern tech fields. You are not bound to choose only development (Non CSE) or, Competitive Programming (Using DSA to solve problems). Go beyond and explore!!

▶️ How to find opportunities and high-quality learning resources?

Firstly, create a LinkedIn account and take a challenge. May be a 20-day challenge and post your daily work there. LinkedIn will boost your post and then gradually see what others are doing.

🛑 Don't add Bangladeshi friends or seniors who have nothing special to do and just sent you a connection request that you are about to send.

✅ You will see people posting achievements. Congratulate them and DM them how they did it. What did they learn? Don't message "Assalamualaikum vaia/hlw" only.

✅ Write a proper message where it shows you tried to search about it but did not find any and you really need his or her help. The person will surely reply.

Then learn from the resource. This resource can be free or paid for. If you want some changes in life, invest in your education. Then keep this loop running!

✅ Learn, Share, Apply Things will start becoming much easier.

Don't wait for friends who don't want to work rather, find people who are trying their best to work. Make a group with them. Go beyond borders

Whatever people say, most people do development (not part of CS/CSE) and competitive programming (part of CSE) because the resources are very much available.

▶️ But it's one's responsibility to manage resources for other tech, which is hard and will take time for AI to replace. Yet, most students DM me with the question, "How can I earn faster?"

Isn't the answer simple? If anything is easier to earn, anyone can do it. Then what makes you different as a CS/CSE student?

▶️ Moreover, Bangladesh has a huge number of freelancers right after India (15 million), which is 650,000 who earn over $900 million (98 crores) annually, while the global freelance market is worth over $1 trillion (109,787,20 crores).

So, Bangladeshi freelancers earn very little as a whole! What's the reason?

Most freelancers earn by developing websites, which are basically the frontend and backend of a business where a customer clicks and communicates. But most of the earning comes from the idea, and thus, freelancers make very little.

Digital marketing, editing, and many more (Again, all of these are ways to market the idea, so it costs very little.)

✅ How do we solve this issue?

I did visit the Microsoft Bangladesh office in 2021, and the managing director told me, "Bangladeshi freelancers are very high in number but earn very little. If they start working with data processing, ML, etc., they can easily cross 5 billion (548,93 crores)."

Right after that, in 2022, artificial intelligence hit the market, and many people tried to make fun of the output. Sadly, just like a new baby, AI will mature over time and automate easier jobs. So, you may start with easier stuff, but to sustain, you have to go for harder tasks that involve mathematics and research.

✅ This post is not here to disrespect any job. Just have an idea of how businesses work and what you should choose to do in your career.

✅✅ Finally, for students who might ask me, "How to manage resources and courses for research tech (AI, ML, DL, QC, Blockchain, etc.)??"

▶️ Do start with community work and use the benefits!!

I have received Udemy for business , Certification vouchers & Cloud Academy subscription from Amazon Web Services , Monthly Azure credits from Microsoft Bangladesh , GCP credit from Google , Certification vouchers and courses from The Linux Foundation.

Community work is not paid and won't pay you directly but gives you a lot off opportunity for future growth. Proper use of those can help you elevate 10x-100x in your future.

Here is your chance as a non code contributor. Link shared in the comment section!

▶️ Don't know what is Kubernetes?

Kubernetes is a powerful tool for managing containerized applications. Containers are a lightweight way to package software, and Kubernetes helps you automate the deployment, scaling, and management of these containers across a cluster of machines. This makes it easier to develop, test, and deploy complex applications.

It was created by Google Team and was donated to Cloud Native Computing Foundation
