On behalf of PHSA and other SGU student organizations:

As we all know, St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been hit hard by the recent La Soufrière volcanic eruptions. As such, we the students of SGU want to support our Caribbean friends and families during this time. While it’s impractical for us not on the island to ship the needed food and care donations, we can send money to those that can purchase and deliver the supplies to give for persons in need in St. Vincent and the Grenadians.

There are multiple GoFundMe’s currently raising funds for relief efforts. Here are just a few of them:

-Grenada Cruisers Organization will be doing a direct supply run to St. Vincent next week with needed supplies purchased in Grenada
https://gofund.me/1db8fd6d

- CARI-ON (Conducting Active Relief Impacting Our Nation) SVG Disaster Preparedness is a non-profit organization based in Toronto, Canada.
https://gofund.me/2dec1189

- Invest Caribbean, US based global private sector investment agency of the Caribbean.
https://gofund.me/a7a92b22
In addition to GoFundMes and the direct wire transfer to Grenada NaDMA Disaster Fund, consider reaching out to your home organizations that have chapters in the islands such as Rotaract.

Thank you everyone for your support!

Meet Sydney Smith, a SOM Term 5 and President of SGU Neuroscience Society. Read about what inspires her, advice she would’ve given her term 1 self, and about siblings, pets, and hobbies.

Sydney decided to join the Neuroscience Society not only because of her love for neuroscience but because she wanted to share that enjoyment with others. She wants to help bring awareness to why this field full of ever expanding knowledge is so great. She knew she wanted to give back to the community and this was a great way to do that as well.
