Today I successfully scripted dynamically generated rotation joints at point of collision between my simulated snail body and a 2d rigid body collider environment. So good so far! I have also worked out how to ray cast into the environment to help support future movements... But this next step is not quite to clear in my mind yet as to how best to proceed... Guys I'll just play with the maths and see what develops 😀
