Studio life …

Being creative in other ways - upcycling old kitchen wall units that I paid £30 for, turning 2 glass doored display cupboards into plate racks with a shelf above. Lots to do still, have to paint the rest of kitchen units, paint walls, tile and change worktops - DIY on a budget and treated myself to some new tools, which helped fitting the units myself, I’m excited to see the end result, complete transformation ❤️

Number 4 would really be great right now…. The only creativity that I have been doing since my operation and house move is trying to decorate around working… focusing on getting things done so I can go back to creative studio time - travelling would be great but maybe a goal for next year ❤️

Taking two car loads of “things” to studio. I have been very busy around my employed work clearing my house and packing everything ready for house move (hopefully in July). I miss my studio so much. Once house move and operation (I am booked in for on Tuesday) is out the way I aim to start having some quality creative time ❤️

Working a lot in my employed job at the moment and missing my studio time, hopefully won’t be too long before I get to go again, will be updating my shop shortly with some more hand dyed products with an amazing discount offer - watch this space ❤️

I haven’t been posting much lately as I have a few things I’m dealing with and simply not had time to go to my studio which pains me. On a positive note I have two life changing events on the horizon this year which start with a house move for the first one, hopefully next month. I have been very busy decluttering and packing and also up-cycling some second hand furniture to take with me. Happy Easter everyone x

Not bad for a first attempt as haven’t done any dressmaking for many years. Not finished yet …. Three generations (my mum, me and my granddaughter) in homemade hand made dresses. Sapph loves them, requested matching bags and a hair scrunchie 😂😂😂 accessorising already aged 5 😵‍💫🙈🙈🙈. She has also put in an order for a unicorn dress pattern. ❤️

Hand dyed Perendale batts £9.00 100 g. In 1956 Perendales were bred by Sir Geoffrey Peren at Massey University by crossing a Cheviot over a Romney. 28-33 Microns and is quite a long fibre of 80-120mm, perfect for felting and spinning. A great all rounder.

Last minute shift in my employed job tonight ugh 😩 but I managed to get to studio and put up remaining battens ready for delivery of three more shelves. Also cut down two trestle tables that will have a smaller table top glued on. Need to sand and paint them next …. I’m on a mission as want to get back to the felting experiments ❤️

It’s coming together amazingly well ….. really looking forward to trying this home made carder out. Instructions were purchased off Etsy and a very kind and talented friend is putting it together ❤️

Im so happy I managed to do this before becoming unwell Saturday overnight with vomiting and headaches, thankfully neg PCR. I had to put 5 rows of wood batten on a plasterboard studded wall - no easy feat for me. The wall is 3 metres high. I had about ten meltdowns, developed Tourette’s and had to constantly try and pep talk myself with a “you got this” attitude - I amazed myself - a very heavy Ikea shelving unit. I have ordered another three shelves and a top horizontal piece to extend above second door, so shelving will be wall to wall — go me !!! 💪🏻👊🏻💥🙈❤️

Hand dyed viscose tops - not the easiest fibre to keep soft/separated. Any tips for this would be very welcome 🙏🏻 x

Replacement sofa bed for studio today, IKEA and it has a bed type mattress … can’t want to sleep on it and hopefully not wake up with backache like my other one - Dekka approves too ❤️
