Meet The Teamā¦ or just me.
Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I introduced myself to you all.
Iām Sam and Iām the face behind SJF Golf.
I have been coaching golfers for over 16 years now. In that time I have been lucky enough to work along side some top coaches at some of the best facilities in Nottinghamshire and Suffolk.
Iām excited to announce that I was recently appointed the Head PGA Teaching Professional at Ufford Park Resort where I will continue to help golfers achieve their goals and develop the academy.
In recent years I have focused on creating more golf opportunities for females and children within the sport and I will continue to do this along side individual coaching.

Do you practice the āhard shotsā?
According to approximately 26% of golfers consistently break 90.
During playing lessons with clients, I find a big aspect that causes high shot counts is the ability to play the āhard shotsā well.
How many times have you been in the bunker and taken more than one to get out or hit it through the green?
Iām determining āhard shotsā as the ones you donāt tend to practice. Awkward lies, bunker shots, shots over hazards, shots out of trees, raised chip shotsā¦ the list goes on.
Next time you schedule in a practice session, try to incorporate some āhard shotsā into this session so that you can begin to feel more confident playing these shotsā¦ it may just make the difference!

So this is me signing off as an employee of . Itās been an amazing 5 years since took me on and I canāt thank Stuart enough for all the support and help he has given me.
Now is the time for us to go our separate ways to embark on our own ventures.

Does equipment make you a better golfer?
NOT ALWAYS! Donāt be too sucked into marketing. Golf clubs can help to improve in some ways but will not āfix your faultsā as well as you think.
Sometimes changing clubs will help your game, improve your distance, gain a higher or lower flight. But it often isnāt that answer to all your problems.

Grab 40 range balls and give this a go!
Take 5-10minutes to stretch properly.
GW - 6 shots.
Focusing on rhythm and tempo. Relaxed swings without a target focusā¦ just focus on the strike.
PW - 5 shots.
Pick a target, full swing shots.
Sip of coffee.
7iron - 5 shots.
Pick a target, full swing shots.
Hybrid - 5 shots.
Pick a target, full swing shots.
Driver - 5 shots.
Pick a target, full swing shots.
6 iron - 5 shots.
Shot making.
1 shot normal, 1 shot low, 1 shot high, 1 shot draw & 1 shot fade.
SW - 3 shots.
Gentle pitch shots to a target.
Club you will tee off with. (For me this was a Driver)
3 good shots in a row.
Finish coffee, onto the putting green for 10-15 minutes chipping and putting.
