Just wanted to say thank you soooo much for looking after my boys for the past 4 years! They have lived every minute of it. We are all saf to be leaving and will miss you all x
Thank you to all of the First Steps team who have loved and looked after my little boy for the past 3 years. His nursery life started badly at another nursery and I was terrified to hand him over to another child care establishment at less than 12 months old, but all of you have made it easy for both of us. He was a nervous little boy and he has had big life changes the last couple of years but you have all held him close and made it easier for him. Not once has he told me that he doesn't want to go to nursery! That's prettt amazing over 3 years. We are both sad that our time with you is over but THANK YOU because you have made a difference where many others couldn't. Kristin, Emma, Emily, Jess, Debbie, Rachel, Kerry, Aleshia, and the girls who's names I can't spell..... thank you ❤️

We would like to wish our Di a very happy retirement as today was her last working day with us at Ashton Court.

Di has been part of the team for 9 years and has spent time working with all age groups across the nursery.

We can say we will definitely miss you Di, but enjoy every moment! You really deserve it.

Our Princess Di 👑

Lots of love from us all xx

DAY 13: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURES

Today I feel we have turned over a new leaf with our elves, they have decided to take part with our breakfast with Santa this morning.
But enjoyed playing playing hide and seek within the bags..
I hope they don't try and eat the muffins!

DAY 10: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURES

Apologies that we didn't send pictures yesterday, but the children and Elves were so busy printing bags ready for our 'Breakfast with Santa' on Monday 13th!

So, today when we arrived at nursery, the Elves had set up snack for the children, which was VERY helpful, but NOT quite our Preschool standards as you can see. Banana skin on the floor, and biscuit crumbs on the table...what a hazard!!! This will all have to go on our children's risk assessment!
We have decided we are going to send them on a food hygiene course over the weekend, so Elvis and Elsa will be ready for the job of Special Helper on Monday!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, see you next week,

Love Preschool x

We have updated our Covid-19 measures in line with Plan B.

Unfortunately that does mean alongside continued use of face coverings we’re restricting access to the nursery, asking parents to drop-off and pick-up children at the door.

Full details of safety measures are available through Parentzone.

Thank you for your continued support.

DAY 8: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURE

We are only on day 8 and these elves are causing too much trouble, last night after all the children and practitioners have left and Denise has cleaned the nursery and locked up. Elvis and Elsa magically got into Kristin and Kerry's office instead of just being good elves they decided to climb up onto the photo copier and make funny pictures of each other!!
I cannot believe there mischievous behaviour placing all their pictures over the entrance of the nursery for all children and parents to see. Pre-school are truly disappointed but with a secret camera last night we caught them in the act skipping across the office so Elvis and Elsa had no escape today.
Pre-school has spoken to them about the rules and has cancelled any fun for these elves for the rest of December!!
Anyone got a address to send these elves back I think we have got the wrong ones!!

DAY 7: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURES

After thinking Elvis and Elsa would of learnt there lesson yesterday after getting Debbie and Elisha in trouble with Kristin with wiping their planning board. No they decided they needed to relax Elsa wanted a mud bath but the back door was locked so she wanted to be festive and decided to relax in oats. Elvis didn't want to relax he wanted to go fishing with a teaspoon.

What will the children have for breakfast now?

These pair of elves really dislike listening to rules going to have to find a new approach with them, anyone have any suggestions?

HELP!

DAY 6: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURES

Elvis and Elsa are back after their weekend away, and back up to mischief.

After spending a lovely time at home with our families over the weekend, we return to nursery to see this. We now have no planning boards for preschool as they've wiped it off and wrote a message for Debbie and Elisha. They must have known how annoyed we were from last weeks antics when we told them we will cancel the Elves Christmas and send them back to the North Pole for GOOD!

Anyway, on a positive note, if there's no planning, then we will just have to spend December having FUN!!!!!

HOHOHO

DAY THREE: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURES

Just look what happened this morning with these two mischievous Elves! What are we going to do with them?!

When we arrived at nursery, the floor was covered with little bits of colourful paper like someone had a party last night here at nursery. But, the children and staff had all gone home, and Denise the cleaner had left the nursery spotless!
We wondered who had made all this mess, and the only ones left at nursery are Elvis & Elsa.....and look who's holding the scissors, Elvis!!!! Whilst Elsa lay in the mess doing snow angels!!!!

After we all helped to tidy up, we decided that we needed to have a little chat with them, and remind them of Preschool rules because they're going to be here all weekend alone.....

DAY 2: ELVIS AND ELSA ADVENTURES

Elisha, Debbie and pre-school were shocked to see what the elves have done this morning as we walked into our base room. We can not believe they painted the fish tank ("poor fishes", pre-school said), catching them in the act, the children have cleaned the paint up and told the elves how disappointed they are after they told them the rules only yesterday.

Elisha and Debbie are thinking what have they got themselves into with these elves.

Let's hope Elvis and Elsa have learnt their lesson, as pre-school feel they needed to be added to our rainbow chart to help improve there behaviour, but after today's stunt I don't think they will be moving up on our rainbow chart! HAHA!

Fingers crossed they listen and don't get up to trouble tonight!

Photos from First Steps Childrens Nursery - Ashton Court's post 02/12/2021

Yesterday here at Ashton Court within our Pre-school room they had a special delivery. We noticed 2 elves swinging off our tree and a box which had a slab of chocolate inside (which pre-school said was super yummy!) and a letter. We read the letter to find out our special guests are called Elvis and Elsa. They have the special task of coming to explore Pre-School for the whole of December. However, we must keep a close eye on them as sometimes they get up to a little mischief!

To see what Elvis and Elsa have been up to, please feel free to check in daily!

Let the fun begin!

In light of the new COVID-19 variant leading to a step up in precautionary safety measures across the UK the DfE have updated their guidance for early years settings.
We’ve reviewed this carefully and continue to take a cautious approach to protecting our colleagues and families. Mask wearing in nursery remains mandatory for our colleagues and we now also ask that anyone picking up and dropping off please also wears a mask. We all have a responsibility to do all we can to keep each other safe so we appreciate your continued support.
Further information will be sent to you via parent zone today
Thank you and stay safe

Our Orange group have been enhancing their room over the last few weeks following the Curiosity approach

''The Curiosity Approach aims to create 'thinkers & doers' by putting the child at the centre of their own development and education. Modern toys and technology are removed from the learning environment and replaced with everyday items to encourage children's natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create.''

Our children have loved exploring their new areas.
