Why I do what I do.

I got into fitness because I’d experienced, low self esteem, lack of confidence, body insecurities etc. I just wanted better for myself.

The difference fitness made in my life built a passion for helping others transform their physical and mental health!

When I first started working in the industry, I didn’t realise how big of an impact I’d have on people’s lives but after helping 100’s of clients achieved their goals, I can see it!

My coaching ethos revolves around REAL LIFE. Any plan that doesn’t fit around life and the situations that come with it, isn’t going to be beneficial long term. Life won’t stop for you, so we make it work around life!

Tiddies bigger than your girls 🤪🤣 here’s how ⬇️

Target the pec in both the lengthened and shortened range with a variety of pressing and flying movements.

Use a varied rep range and make sure technique is good with a full range of motion and good temp, especially on the negative part of the rep.

Last of all, be consistent and patient 👍🏾

I’ve walked in your shoes 👟

Having walked this journey before being a coach, I understand first hand how challenging this journey can be! But honestly, it is so, so worth it and I never have any regrets! 💪🏾

When I first started I was clueless, man I couldn’t even bench an empty bar and leg day? That was a myth! 😳 It was quite overwhelming to be honest but I stuck at it!

The focus of 1% better each day, setting and achieving and celebrating the small wins & milestones along the way. It’s hard to put into words. My first 2 plate bench press. My first 3 plate squat…

The beginning was undoubtably the most difficult part and the easiest time to feel discouraged, especially when progress starts to slow! Consistency isn’t easy!

Once you’ve learnt & understand the process and KNOW 100% that it works.. It’s easier to just stick to and keep chipping away at the masterpiece you’re creating.

Remember why you started, remember why you what this..

Been there, done that 🙌🏾

I’m hellbent on ensuring my clients achieve their fitness goals but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my own… lead by example 👌🏾

I’ve been “out of shape” and not as healthy as I could have been and I’ve changed that.

Improving my daily routine, eating more nutritious foods, doing things the promote good mental health, these are the things I implemented. Was it easy? Nope. But it was worth it.

Eat enough protein 🍽️
Whether the goal is building muscle or burning fat, eating enough protein is very important! If you’re building, protein intake directly impacts the bodies ability to build muscle tissue. If you’re burning fat it’s important to maintain the muscle tissue you have. Also, protein requires more energy to digest so technically you’ll burn more calories in a higher protein diet.

Walk more 👣
Aesthetics aren’t enough when it comes to a fitness journey. Health is something we should all be interested in improving. Walking more through the day can reduce mortality rates, we all want to live longer don’t we? Secondly, if fat loss is the goal, moving more throughout the day will burn more calories than your gym session. So if you think sitting on your arse all day and then going to the gym for an hour is enough, read this again.

A workout done is better than a workout missed 🏋🏾‍♂️
Sometimes you’re not gonna feel like training. Sometimes your training session might not go to plan. Sometimes you might not “progress” in the gym. But by going and ticking off another workout, you’re in a much better position than if you were to skip training.

Don’t compare you Chapter 1 to someone else’s Chapter 20 ⬇️

We’ve all gotta start somewhere… Today I just wanted to share a bit about my journey. I often share clients stories and forget about telling you my own.

In picture 1 I was overweight, struggling with body confidence and binging on food off the back of a bodybuilding competition. I very quickly became out of shape, very unfit, unhealthy and unhappy. All this whilst becoming a Dad and not having a clue how to do that right either. I lost my love for training as well.

It’s taken me YEARS to solve these issues, through consistent trying, trial & error. But in the second picture I’m happier, healthier, more confident and I’d like to think I’m a better father too.

Some of the things I changed were; eating more fruit & veg, looking after my cardiovascular health more, time management, studying, building my knowledge and subsequently improving my training programmes. The results that came with this made me fall in love with the process again and want even better for myself!

Next time you look at a coach or influencers profile and wish you looked like or could lift as much as them, remember everyone is different, everyone’s journey is different and everyone’s rate of progress is different…

But progress is progress! I know it can be hard, trust me I’ve been there!
