Teacher’s Day! ✨

Yesterday was World Teacher’s Day, and I missed it!!! But better late than never eh?!

I have the most incredible team of teachers working at JAM. Each week they bring their A game and create inspirational, engaging and the highest quality of performing arts teaching. I’m very lucky to have such a fab team - and our student are very lucky to have such brilliant teachers!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A huge shout out to Georgia, Harriet and Heidi and our fabulous assistants… Leah, Chloe and Lilly 🤩

I have had the BEST day at St Nicholas CE First School, Codsall 🎉 Year 2,3 and 4 all took part in their very own Jam Youth Theatre workshops where we explored lots of drama activities and had lots of fun 🤩

We were so impressed with the students; they were polite, friendly and super talented! We’ve seen lots of very good performances today!! ✨

Well done St Nic’s 👍🏻

Our Saturday students were absolutely on fire today 🔥

They wowed us in Drama by learning the entire script for their December concert - the acting and performances were amazing 🤩

Then in Musical Theatre they were the loudest they have ever been while learning their brand new song 🎶

Very impressed! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Our Juniors 2 are working on a very exciting project in Drama with Stacey. So far this term they have explored how to improvise a scene, how to create interesting characters and now they are writing their very own scripts for the end of term concert!

I can think of more than a handful of our JAM girls who would be perfect for this exciting opportunity 🤩 Check out the link for more info!

Final casting call for Nativity! The Musical. ✨

We are seeking talented, funny girls aged 8-12 years - particularly welcoming applications that reflect the incredible diversity of Birmingham, including children with a disability. More info: https://bit.ly/2VUIK4e

Last Saturday our Juniors students worked really really hard all morning 🤩

🧡 They sang their hearts out in their musical theatre class, added in movement and performance to their song and used their acting skills to create a really impressive performance!
💛 In drama, they worked together to create impressive shapes and images with their bodies, they used improvisation to develop their characters and even started learning some script for their concert!

This week our Juniors 2 group used their improvisation skills to create their own Harry Potter scenes 🧙‍♀️

Any idea what’s going on in this image?! 🪄

How is it nearly time for JAM again?! This week has flown by, not that we’re complaining - we can’t wait to get back to it! 🤩

We’re back this Friday and Saturday for more drama, singing and dancing, as well as lots of games, activities and smiles along the way!

There is still chance to book a free trial for Saturday group! Don’t miss out, our new sessions are fun packed and getting filled with more students every day! 🙌🏻

📣 SOUND UP 📣 “Na Na Na nanana NAAAAAA” 🎶

Our Juniors 2 and Seniors worked together this week as we welcomed everyone back to JAM. In singing we played around with how we can use dynamics and lovely Holly, Jess and Lexi had a go at being ‘sound master’! Check out the amazing sound our students can make! 🤩

All the staff commented on how positive and enthusiastic the students were, and how they absolutely threw themselves into every task. Well done guys 🙌🏻

See you next week TEAM FRIDAY! See you tomorrow, TEAM SATURDAY 🤩🤩🤩

We were very very sad to hear the news yesterday about our Queen, we know many people will be also feeling sad during this time.

We thank our Queen for her years of service and everything she did for us ❤️

I have to give a huge HUGE shout out to our Jammy Dodgers 1 group who were total professionals during yesterday’s rehearsals and show. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They came into the ‘big hall’, not their normal lovely classroom, they rehearsed for a whole hour without once moaning, or showing any nerves AND all while being watched by our big scary (absolutely lovely) Juniors and Seniors who they’ve never worked with before!!

To say I was proud of them is an understatement. They showed us all how it’s done 🤩 and they were super stars on stage through out the entire show!

Wow wow wow!!! What a show! Amazing 🤩 I have no words. Except for that I can’t wait to do it all again next week. All of our students were on the stage at the same time and they absolutely smashed it. I’m so proud!!!

We hope you thoroughly enjoyed the show! We know we all did!!

Who’s excited about our brand new Saturday School opening this September at Codsall Trinity Community Centre?!… Me! 🙌

As the Summer Term is coming to an end, we thought it was time for a recap on what we have to offer at JAM Youth Theatre and why you should get yourself signed up for a FREE trial session with us this September…

💜 Weekly sessions in singing, dancing and acting led by our fabulous and brilliantly creative team of teachers
💚 Two amazing shows per year… check out our menacing pirates from last years production of Peter Pan
🧡 The opportunity to do LAMDA exams in both Acting and Musical Theatre
💙 The chance to make new friends, explore new talents and build on existing ones and watch your confidence soar!

If your looking for somewhere for your child to learn new skills, develop their love of performing and build on their confidence then look no further. We offer classes for students aged between 4 - 16 so come and see what we’re all about!

Last nights’ rehearsal for as FAB! We did an (almost) full run though of the show and all the students were amazing! We could tell how many people had sat and learnt their lines.

Next up is dress rehearsal next week…

Please can all students come in black clothes (t-shirts, leggings, shorts etc) and black trainers or pumps. We have so many FABULOUS costumes to hand out but a black base layer is essential.

Nearly there now!

Photos from JAM Youth Theatre's post 18/06/2022

☀️ It was a hot and sweaty rehearsal yesterday afternoon 🥵but the students worked hard and we saw some amazing singing, acting and dancing!!

⭐️ s t u d e n t h o m e w o r k ⭐️

Too many of our students are still relying on the teachers to prompt them with their lines when they’re performing. For next week, all students need to know their lines so that we can move onto the dress rehearsal. GET LINE LEARNING GUYS! 🤓🤩

This evening we are sorting costumes… which is a totally different ball game when you have your own munchkins wanting to try on absolutely EVERYTHING!!

There’s only one Queen of the Jungle in our house and, let’s face it… her big brother is the cutest lion cub around! 🦁

This might take a while… 🫣

It’s that time again! ☀️ Summer Workshops 2022 ☀️

And this year we absolutely had to go for a BEST OF BRITISH theme in honour of the Queen’s Jubilee earlier this month ❤️🤍💙 We will be doing singing, dancing and drama to all of the best of British musicals, pop bands and characters. We can’t wait!

🤩 Places are available to anyone aged 4-16
✨ Book your space here: https://jamyouththeatre.class4kids.co.uk (Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the Summer booking)

✨Reminder to our Juniors and Seniors ✨

This week we will be doing a full run through of the show and all students need to be ‘off script’. That means no scripts on stage at all! Feel free to bring them along to put backstage or to look through at break time. Exciting stuff!

Ticket letters will be handed out to all students this week too - we make sure you get those back to Stacey asap to get the best seats 🤩

Happy Jubilee Celebrations to everyone in our JAM fam! I hope you have a fabulous time this bank holiday, whatever you’re doing! I will be drinking tea 🫖 and eating cake 🍰 all weekend long 👸

Remember there are no sessions this week so we will see you all next Friday 10th June 🥳

See you shortly!!!!
