A wonderful day learning with our little group of ‘Key Worker’ children.
The stimulus was ‘Toilet Roll’ chosen by the children.
We watched videos on how toilet rolls are made. We learned about the sewage and water treatment process.
Maths: We worked out the length and area of a Toilet Roll. (45m long and 4.5m squared) - Two Y5 learners, measured and calculated the area of the playground and calculated how many toilets rolls it would take to carpet the playground (incidentally is approx. About 319 toilet rolls)
History: Talked toileting habits throughout history from the Rotten Romans with sponge on stick to the Victorian outside loos to the Andrex puppies. We even had time to make our own Ancient Egypt Mummy
English: Wrote stories about the ‘Adventurous Toilet Roll.’ We created poems, information texts and even a playscript of a conversation between a toilet roll and a kitchen roll.
Who said that ‘creativity’ is dead?
Another tiny step along the road to normality. Y5 & Y6 joined Fr Craig in the Holy Celebration of Mass.
Thank you Fr Craig ❤️🙏💙
Frankie and Sofia have had the great news that they are both recipients of a GREEN Blue Peter Badge.
They used recycled materials, an old plastic dustbin lid and a solar powered fountain to make the rock pool (which BTW attracts the massive spiders 😔)
They also made a wildlife village with bug hotels, worm hotels and other abodes for various creepy crawlies.
To say they are happy would be an understatement!
Lovely lockdown memories. xx

Hello to all of the of our pupils at St Christopher's Catholic Primary School, in Codsall! It's Mrs Pritchard here! I hope you are all keeping safe and well ...
Our pupils have shown amazing courage and resilience throughout this period, despite losing the structure and stability of being at school and seeing their friends and relatives.
As a thank you for being so brilliant, I'll be doing an exclusive live story-telling session just for our pupils on Monday at 9am!
I'll be reading my book, Sully the Seahorse,
and we'll be doing my special song called the Sea School Shuffle. Type in Sea School Shuffle on You Tube to have a practice beforehand! 🧡
Children will be able to ask me any questions about being an author and writing books in the live comments section. They will also be able to say hi to some of their school friends in the live feed. 🧡
It will be a chance for our pupils to come together, have a bit of fun and share a story.
Here is the link for you to tune in to the special session on Monday:
