The SIA have no announced a new regime for training and quals for EXISTING UK Door Supervisors...

From February next year, Physical Intervention training is to become mandatory for all Door Supervisors wishing to renew their licence.

"Any individual who currently holds a door supervisor licence but does not carry out licensable activities in this sector can, after 4 February 2013, on renewal of their licence obtain instead a security guarding licence and will not have to take the additional training."

PRP Training Academy suggests that you sign up to one of our comprehensive 2 day Physical Intervention courses which will include both the compulsory PI workbook and a FULL range of skills.

Details are being finalised with regard to content for each full day, but we hope to retain all the theory on Day 1 and have Day 2 as entirely practical.

So - lots of great things have been happening here at PRP Towers... lots of students from Walsall College have now been successfully trained in the Door Supervisor Award... going into next year we are also offering the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification in the same week. On Thursday 14th July PRP hosted a training day at Walsall College for staff and pupils from the Public Services courses. The young people on this course wish to become employed in public service such as Armed Services, Police, Fire or Ambulance Service. An array of guest speakers from different services presented during the day.

The day was a huge success and was greatly received by the college staff and the pupils. Many of these young people are looking at filling the gap for properly trained staff that is currently ‘gaping’ in the security industry while they are waiting for recruitment to open again for these services. Both PRP Training Academy and PRP Security will be working closely with Walsall College again on some interesting projects - so watch this space!
