Our elves have been very busy at Ripley overnight... they have hidden candy canes around the nursery for the children as a special treat. The elves will be heading back to the North Pole this evening to help Santa finish getting ready for the big day! Goodbye elves! ๐๐๐

It was so cold when our Owls went in the garden this morning that it even started to snow! We had such fun playing in the snowstorm created by Emilyโs snow machine! We tried to make snowmen and used our trikes to make marks in the foam snow! โ๏ธ๐ฆโ๏ธ

Our elves have been up to mischief overnight again here at Ripley! Yesterday the children thought the elves might like to draw pictures.... they couldnโt believe it when they arrived this morning! ๐๐

Here are the pictures from the Owls teddy bears picnic on Friday for Children in Need 2018! The children made their own sandwiches for tea and even helped to make the hedgehogs tea too! Thank you to everyoneโs kind donations we raised ยฃ50 to give to those in need.

Our Hedgehogs have enjoyed taking part in lots of children in need activities this week and today we had a teddy bears picnic tea! What a treat to share tea with our teddies! ๐๐ฆ๐ป

The Owls have had a great week raising money for Children in need. Today we had a Dressing up day with face painting. We have also had a cake sale during the week, making Pudsey cakes to take home to our families and other activities such as a scavenger hunt, magnets, hats, masks and much more. We are looking forward to our Teddy bears picnic and lots of fun games tomorrow!
๐ฆIf you are in Tomorrow, Donโt forget to bring a teddy in for our Picnic. ๐ฆ

Yesterday in Owls one of our children shared their interest in the moon during snack time. We discussed where the moon is and how to get there. The children watched some YouTube clips of rocket launches an were surprised about how noisy it was! We learned about the astronauts that fly the rockets and watched some clips of an astronaut living on a space station. We were amazed to see how he floated around, and learned how to brush teeth in space, what water does in space and how an astronaut goes to sleep in space - he floats in a sleeping bag tied to the wall! We made paper aeroplanes and pretended they were rockets, trying to fly them over the banners hanging around our room. One of our Owls was particularly fascinated by how astronauts sleep in space, so decided to make a picture - she drew an astronaut bear, his sleeping bag, the zip, and made the space station he was on out of masking tape! Space is amazing! ๐๐

This afternoon the owls have made their own tea! The children have buttered their own bread and picked their own fillings, they even tried to cut their own sandwiches. The owls found it a bit difficult to butter their bread but with some determination and encouragement they managed to butter both slices of bread, the owls have enjoyed making their own sandwiches.

Here are some photos from Friday where we paid our respects to all of our fallen soldiers. The owls made their own medals, made poppy cookies and drew their own poppy.

To start off our Children in Need week at Ripley the owls have made Pudsey Bear cupcakes!
We have got lots more exciting Pudsey themed activities to do this week to raise awareness for Children in Need.
On Tuesday we will be holding a cake sale at the nursery, on Wednesday the children will be making their our Pudsey Bear fridge magnets. Thursday will be a dress up day, come in as much yellow and/or spotting clothing that you can! On Friday we will be hosting a teddy bears picnic, so donโt forget to bring your favourite cuddly toy!

Tomorrow we will be wearing red at nursery to honour our fallen heroes, please wear as much red as you can!

Apologies for the delay of our Halloween party post, it has taken time to gather pictures of all the spooky activities that took place.
All the staff at Ripley want to thank all of the witches, skeletons, pumpkins, cats, Hulks and parents that came to our Halloween party and made it a spooktacular time for all!
Today in Hedgehogs we made a Gigi (horse) using our soft play as part of our Letโs Get Physical program. Our babies practiced their balancing and climbing skills, and kept on trying to make it all the way across! ๐ฆ๐๐ช๐ผ๐

Yesterday our Hedgehogs were feeling very independent as they served their own pineapple for snack, and helped to pour themselves a drink of milk or water. Well done Hedgehogs! ๐๐๐ฆ

Our Hedgehogs made some beautiful bright paintings yesterday to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights! They used lolly sticks and their fingers to explore mark making. ๐ฏ
