Our Christmas Fair is this Friday! Make sure you join us for some festive fun - one slot remaining to see Father Christmas.

Jackanory is a well established pre-school in Chobham, Surrey that operates term time only and cares for children aged between 2 and 5 years.

Because we are full, from the beginning of the spring term we are looking for someone to join our team on a bank staff basis. The hours for this will be a guaranteed 21.25 hours per week between January and July 2023.

We are looking for someone who is experienced, passionate and talented to join our strong team, and you will need to be committed to providing a stimulating and enjoyable environment for our children.

A relevant level two or three qualification in Early Years is preferable. All applicants will undergo reference and DBS checks. Pay dependant on experience and qualifications.

Please make sure your child has plenty of drinks, suncream applied before session, appropriate clothing, and a sun hat when coming to Jackanory Preschool.

Please make sure your child has suncream on before coming to Jackanory this week, and that they are sent in with a sunhat, clothes that cover shoulders, shoes that can get wet/spare pair, and please don't forget their drinks!☀️

The Uk Health Security Agency has just notified us of a Level 3 Heatwave warning for 00:00 Friday - 00:00 Sunday. Please ensure your child wears suitable summer clothing, has a bottle of water (no fizzy drinks), a sunhat and plenty of suncream applied BEFORE attending Jackanory tomorrow. Please also pack plenty of changes of clothes and shoes you're happy for your child to get wet. We will adapt our daily routine to make the most of the cooler, shaded garden time, and will of course keep the children's water bottles topped up as needed. Many thanks.

Jackanory Preschool are hiring, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Preschool Manager to join our team, rarely does this position become available!

We are looking for someone who has a solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage to provide strong leadership for our passionate team, building on the supportive working environment and solid relationships with parents, as well as providing high quality learning opportunities for children.

Candidates must

· hold a full and relevant level 3 or above qualification in Early Years,

· have a sound knowledge of safeguarding,

· have a minimum of two years experience,

Our chick's have hatched! When session finished yesterday we had one, this morning all 10 were here. The children have fallen in love with the new arrivals and enjoy just sitting and watching them 🐣🐥

Jackanory Preschool has been part of village life for over 50 years, with a friendly team of loyal staff who have been with us for many years. We are a term time only pack away setting. We are looking for a Room Leader who is experienced, passionate, and who shows initiative to join our team. You will need to be committed to providing a stimulating and enjoyable environment for our children and have a solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, safeguarding procedures and supporting guidance and legislation.

Duties will include;

Working closely with the Manager to ensure an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is delivered enabling children to make individual progress. To organise planning and resources. Working closely with all staff, some who you will mentor and guide. To act as a key person to a small group of children, recording observations and building strong relationships with them and their parents. Work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals as required. To attend training courses and take responsibility for personal professional development.
To ensure adequate records are kept and updated regularly, including but not limited to, children's files, registers, accident and incident books. Moving of multiple items of furniture each morning and afternoon, checking these are safe before the start of session.

The position is for our Acorn Room, which cares for children aged 2-3 years old, you will be required to work 32.5 hours a week, starting at 8:30am and finishing by 3pm. A relevant level three qualification in Early Years is essential. Pay dependant on qualifications and experience. All applicants will undergo reference and DBS checks.

Salary: £15,000.00-£17,000.00 per year

Jackanory has an excess of high quality play grade sand suitable for children's sandpits which needs to be cleared before the start of the new term. Having offered it to our parents we would now like to offer it to the wider community.
